New Drobox app is terrible!
If I wanted to look at the latest files uploaded to my dropbox, I'd click on the dropbox icon in my menubar (Mac OS) and click on the folder containing the file that was last uploded as the folder tr...

Spoke to Dropbox support and this might (hopefully) not be intentional and an issue with the latest early release version. If you need to revert, do this:
1 Log in to dropbox.com using your web browser.
2 Click on you account picture/avatar at the top right corner of the page.
3 Click on "Settings".
4 From the "General" tab, scroll down to the section titled "Preferences" and uncheck the box next to "Include me in early releases" if it is checked. That fixed it for me.

Hey nana71, thank you for all the details, and screenshot!
Can I ask for you to hover over your icon on the menu bar, check for the status of the app, and the version?
Let me know once you have it, and we'll take it from there!
Cheers!

- Megan4 years agoDropbox StaffHey nana71, thank you so much for the screenshot!
It seems you're using the Beta version of the app. Can you follow the steps shown here to opt-out from early releases, and then try re-installing the stable version of the app?
Let me know if the issue remains after those steps.
Thanks!

Hi Lori,
thanks for your info. Actually most of the time were happy with being in the Beta version, but in this case we don't understand what's going on. Could you give some info why dropbox is opting out of navigating via the taskbar icon? It was so helpful and this feature should even be explored more if you ask us. Reinstalling dropbox is very heavy on our internet usage and we because we have a very complex and large database, this demands a lot of synching and is time consuming.. Looking forward to feedback on this.

The Dropbox desktop application isn't necessarily opting out of this feature.
However, as beta builds are still in the testing process and are used for testing purposes, you could experience some issues or an inconsistent experience, such as this one.
This is why, as a first step to isolate the issue, I recommended the stable version.
I hope this helps.
