Why do archived files still take up Dropbox storage on our team?
Hi Folks -
I'm confused about Dropbox Archiving... Got an e-mail a couple months ago that there was a (new?) archiving feature available so went through the effort with my team of organizin...

Yes it does count towards your quota - why wouldn't it? If it uses space on the servers it uses space (which costs money).

The thing is, I wouldn't expect it to apply to all my team members' quotas since none of them can access the data. It's already funny how DropBox charges storage space multiplied by team members. Yes, it takes storage space but not storage space * team members.
Anyway, what's the point of archiving if not to 'clear up' space in any way? Just to make it harder to retrieve?
