Storage space
74 TopicsI migrated my files to a new Mac, but they all show as 0 bytes. How can I delete them?
I always worked on a pc. Now I finally bought a Mac desktop. I tried to migrate files (obviously in a wrong way) and it looked perfect but they all are 0 bytes. But they all have the correct name. If I delete one, it's disappeared from Dropbox. My question: (how) can I delete all the corrupted files frommy Mac without removing them from Dropbox? Thank you for your answer! Hi, can anyone tell me if there's a way to unlink a shared file from my account? It's not my file, so I can't delete it (Dropbox might let me do so, but it's not my file so I shouldn't try). It's large and eating into my quota, and I don't want it on my Dropbox account. There is no folder containing it which I can unlink--just the file.119Views0likes1CommentHow to access files to clean out some storage space without upgrading

The Harddrive on my Acer desktop is almost full so to free up space I am uploading redundant music files to One Drive. Then I am deleting them from the Hard drive but notice that this action is not credited, i.e. I have not yet freed up the space I need. How do I make that happen? Am I supposed to empty the trash, or is there a special place in dropbox I do that? Thanks. Oh yeah, I'm on I think Dropbox Family357Views0likes6CommentsI can't delete my backup files to free up space; the backup folder isn't visible.
I currently have a Dropbox account with the free basic plan. For a few days I have been receiving notifications because the storage space has run out. In truth my uploads are only 250Mb in size. I remember that last week, by mistake, I started the backup of a GARMIN device which failed. However, the files loaded during this backup have filled the available space. Now I would like to delete all those GARMIN files but I cannot select and delete them because the folder is not visible and selectable. The only way to see those files is in the "recent" view. Please can someone help me?Solved917Views0likes3CommentsHow can I purge the files from my Deleted files page?
I need to completely empty my delete folder to free up storage space. I have already deleted the files from the cache on my Mac. But I need to remove the files from the delete folder on the Dropbox site. I check the box next to the file name in the delete folder. But no option to remove the file appears. There is no delete link, no garbage can icon. I know that the Delete folder will automatically clear out eventually, but how do I clear out the delete folder right away?536Views0likes2CommentsHow to remove files until I'm below storage?
Hi, I'm currently on the basic plan and using 4.7Gb storage. I would like to remove folders, music, video out of my Dropbox account until I'm below the 2Gb threshold for the free account. Being retired, I no longer need a large storage facility and less than 2Gb would be ample. How can I accomplish this? Thanks,380Views0likes4Comments
