Hey the_ood, thanks for the post and happy Friday!
I'm afraid that the name of the backup folder cannot be changed currently.
I will, however, pass this along to our devs team for consideration!
If you need anything else, make sure to let us know.

Hannah, I guess I don't understand why it named my backup directory "Mac (2)". Before I stopped the backup, the folder was called "My Mac (compname)". If there is an easy way to get that back, let me know. That way I don't need to worry about renaming it in the first place. Thanks.

That is not fair we are not able to change names of program and makes your program unusable for that feature for businesses that have multiple computers they do not all want named the same.

Hey Hannah, I have this exact same issue, only for me I upgraded to a new Mac, and now the old one is Mac and the new one is Mac (2). It's really frustrating! Hope y'all can fix this so we can edit the computer names soon!

Hey seanscottusa, thanks for the feedback on this one!
I just wanted to mention that this is already in the works as some backups and backup folders are currently able to be renamed.
We are currently working to upgrade all backups to have similar functionality.
If you'd like to track this idea, you can have a look here.

How will we know when we are part of the lucky group and are able to safely rename our folders without creating any synchronisation errors?
Will we individually be notified or as a group or as a whole?
What is the actual status of this resolution?
