Dropbox index stuck - 211,488 files
I've been on this board for a few hours now trying every possible solution to stop dropbox from being stuck when indexing. I bought a new laptop, moved the dropbox folder (1.3 TB) from my old lapt...

Version is 115.3.553. Previously also tried a backlevel version.
For Dropbox support and development, when an error condition occurs, it would be much better if the process timed out with an error message.

Now running Dropbox v139.4.486 on Windows 10
Was stuck indexing 962 files for 2 days. Tried the Fix Permissions and Fix hard links but no success in resuming synch.
Uninstalled Dropbox, cleared cache and fixed Registers then restarted PC and installed Dropbox. New App Started at synching 54,000 files and progressed to 7,868 where it has been stuck for 30 hours. Tried the Fix Permissions and Fix Hardlinks again but still stuck and using a lot of system resources while stuck.

If you're still stuck at the exact same number of files, could you send us a screenshot of the app's status as shown in your system tray?
Also, can you check if the app is reporting any syncing issues by clicking on the relevant button after clicking on your avatar in the app's preferences?

I went to preferences-backups-manage backups-Nothing to cancel, etc????/
