Every time I add/delete files, the desktop app gets stuck indexing.

Hello everyone,

It seems there's a bug with Dropbox (version 211.4.6008).

Any time I add or remove files, they get stuck in "Syncing and Indexing" mode and take forever to sync.

To make it work, I have to pause sync and then resume it, which temporarily fixes the issue, but it’s a hassle. It feels really laggy.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Hey leandrosilva! Sorry to hear this is happening.

Did you notice this issue right after updating your Dropbox app to the app version you mention?

Other than that, I’d like you to right-click on your local Dropbox folder > select Get info/Properties, and send me a screenshot of the next window you’ll get.

Ping me when you have more details.

      Hello Nancy,

      Thank you for your reply.

I started noticing this issue 3-4 days ago.

Our Dropbox Business account has 17.9 TB, but the number of files isn’t causing the problem, as the operations for adding, removing or updating files are consistently performed without any issues.

Hey leandrosilva! Are all these files syncing locally to your desktop app? Can you see the exact number of files (not their size), if you follow the steps I sent you above?

I'm just asking because syncing more than 300k files locally on the Dropbox app may cause performance issues from time to time.
