Hey there (Bex1), thanks for taking a bit of time to post your question on the Dropbox Community; I hope my message finds you well today!

Please bear in mind that that this has been previously discussed here, where I’ve attempted to explain the rationale of the Camera Uploads functionality. Let me briefly re-iterate that Camera Uploads will "look" for new content in your device’s DCIM folder, that's updated according to a pre-set set of specifications your mobile manufacturer has established.

Depending on the device you’re using, there might be a viable workaround to either store the downloaded photos on a different location on your phone or otherwise prevent them from automatically updating in your default Gallery.

From there, you could also upload your files to Dropbox manually (using the + Button), where you’ll be given a choice to select only the ones you’d like to sync online.

Hopefully my tips & advice are-even slightly- helpful to you & please do keep me updated on this discussion if you have any follow-up questions about any of the above. Thanks again for reaching out to us on our Forum & take care until we talk again!
