Dropbox storage - free version
I have a free version of Dropbox and utilise using the web and via the app on my window device. I am confused by the storage bar. I'd like to find out what is using 1.42gB of storage in a 2gB alloc...

To be honest, I'm not quite sure what you're asking for. 🤔 You can see all files you have in your account starting on the account root. There you can see everything you have on this level (similar to many other file browsers - in spite not all popular views are available - tree view is missing for instance). Files size is directly visible, but folders size need to be calculated (take a look on folder' ellipsis menu -> Calculate size). Again like in a regular file browser you can "jump" into current level subfolders recursively and see the same things, etc.
Hope this clarifies matter to some extent.

Sue1829, Your "standard files" are all files that don't fall in some other category (i.e. neither Backup nor Shared). Since you're using only browser login, it's normal your Backup to be empty. Then there are some shared files/folders your shared/received. All such files are, of course, shared and all other "standard". 😉
Thank you. Is there a way to see what standard files/documents etc. are using up the space. I may delete anything that is using up unnecessary space. But tbh I thought I'd already deleted some much that the 'standard file' storage would have reduced. I have to say I don't find DB very intuitive.....probably lack of tuition on my part!!
