Group Container vs Cloud Storage. Fight!
I've got ~/Library/CloudStorage/Dropbox taking up 367gb and that's all well and good but I also have ~/Library/GroupContainers/G7HH3F8CAK.com.getdropbox.dropbox.syn...

Hi James V.1, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
The files in your Dropbox account should be in that CloudStorage folder, so I'm not certain what this other folder is.
Does it contain any sync icons in it?
This will help me to assist further!

Um, no, no sync icons because it's a Group Container in the user library folder. It contains, you know, system stuff.

Hey James V.1, just an update on this.
The folder you're seeing, should be a temporary folder. The files under this folder should get cleaned up after these files are uploaded/downloaded and sync becomes stable.
We do not recommend deleting the folder.
As a workaround, you can try reinstalling the app by following the steps explained here.
This will put Dropbox folder to a original location (under users folder) from ~/Library/CloudStorage location.- kjg198711 months agoExplorer | Level 4
Hi @James V.1
Did the reinstall work for you? I am having the same issue in group containers.
Thanks,

I didn't re-install. I realised dropbox would just leave all the stuff there so I made sure I had a backup and then deleted the folder using daisy disk (an app).
Dropbox didn't need this folder and it was, for me at least, a hangover from the previous version of dropbox that worked in a different way.
Don't do anything without having a proper backup though. I recommend backblaze which is about 6 dollars a month.
