How to view size of Dropbox folder isn't working for me
I'm trying to determine how much space my "pictures" folder is taking up by following these instructions. However, they're not working for me. In step 5, when I click the ellipsis, I don't see an o...

You need to be on one of the List views.

Is it possible it is the version or license you have assigned to your account.
I have 2 accounts and comparing the settings.
on the dropbox basic, I can see the folder size and everything, the menu shows correct.
on the dropbox business legacy, the menu's are different and I have the same issue. the interface is definitely difference.
dont know the solution, but what I am seeing.

update.
if you click on the column headings, you can see a drop down menu. select size.
once this column is displayed, the menu's to calculate size and everything appears.

They only calculate size on files. Not on folders.

Think I worked it out.
It's not at all obvious that the menu is longer than the box it opens in. There's nothing to indicate you can scroll past the bottom of the most visible options. It wasn't until tried the elipsis on a different folder that a half an item displayed gave me the hint that the menu is longer than the display in the GUI.
dropbox might need to do some work to add a scroll bar.
Interestingly also the menu is different for different folders. Once you have calculated size on a folder that calculate size option disappears off the menu. Presumably it will do so forever and update as the folder size changes? As there's no way to turn it off/on or recalculate.
Why you wouldn't display folder size all the time rather than having people calculate it manually is a bit of a mystery but I'm sure there's a reason.
Thanks to those who chimed in.
