New account, no files yet it says I ran out of storage?

Made a new account. no files or anything. And immediately it says I'm out of storage and need to pay to upgrade. Even though it still says (photo attached) I'm only using 0 out of 2 GB...

Any idea what to do? How to get a human? I need this for work.
What a kafkaesque experience it is to get customer service here, my god. Only PREMIUM members get customer service? I hate it here.

Take a look at your Plan page. What does it show for your usage? That is the true indicator. If you can, take a screenshot and post it here. It should look like this:

Is the message you're seeing about being out of space from an email, or is it directly on the Dropbox website? Is it actually stopping you from using your account? Are you able to access it here?

It's on the website. I was sent an invite to modify a file from my work, but when I click the link it redirects me to the first image I posted. It will not let me load the link for the file I need to modify for work.

It does let me upload my own files and photos, but when it comes to the link from work, it says I'm out of space. The link from work would not be larger than 2GB.

Ok, this is making a bit more sense then. You were like invited to a shared folder that is larger than the amount of space available in your account. If you have a new, empty account then you have 2GB of space available. You would only be able to accept a shared folder up to 2GB in size unless you upgrade your account for more storage.

If you only need to view/download files, you can ask them to send you a shared link to the folder instead. If you need edit access, you'll either need to upgrade your account, or ask them to share a smaller folder with you.
