45 TopicsStorage limit changed twice in the past 30 minutes
I'm on a free account and have had 6gigs of capacity since 2015 (in 2013 I had some 24 month promotional storage; that ended in 2015 and I've been at 6gigs of capacity since then; I even still have the email that says my account is dropping to 6gigs). I've been at about 5.75gigs of usage for years now. I don't have it connected to backup devices or anything like that. I use it for mostly cold storage of mostly small files. All of a sudden about half an hour ago, Dropbox stopped syncing. I hopped online to see what was up. It said I had a 2gig plan and was over my limit. I clicked around some more trying to get more information and now it's saying I've used up 5.75gigs of my 5.75gig capacity. I suspect surely this has to be an error. Any ideas? Very much appreciated :-)Solved39Views0likes2CommentsAccount is full even after everything is deleted and backup is off.
Recently Dropbox messed up with the storage quota report. Not to mention it always create a duplicate of my current folder when joining a team that's causing it to double up the size but even after I deleted the duplicate folder, I still cannot sync new files because the reported quota won't update at all and still says the account is full even though it's not. This is quite frustration.34Views0likes1CommentNew account, no files yet it says I ran out of storage?
Made a new account. no files or anything. And immediately it says I'm out of storage and need to pay to upgrade. Even though it still says (photo attached) I'm only using 0 out of 2 GB... Any idea what to do? How to get a human? I need this for work. What a kafkaesque experience it is to get customer service here, my god. Only PREMIUM members get customer service? I hate it here.29Views0likes5CommentsFamily plan with more shared space !
Hi.... Is there any movement with regards to the ability to increase the Family Plan Storage Space. The Dropbox statement below hasn't changed for some considerable time - well over a year from memory. Thanks in advance Dropbox Family plan FAQs - Dropbox Help Can I buy more storage space? We’re working on a Family plan with more shared space, but an upgrade isn’t available yet. Individual Family members can free up space by deleting unused files and folders, or they can opt out of Dropbox Family and choose an individual plan that meets their needs.1.9KViews1like5CommentsMy Basic account is saying I'm over quota, but I'm not, why?
Hi I have a Basic account and am getting notified via a bar at the top of most windows, in the browser version of my account, that "You’re almost out of space! Upgrade to get 2 TB (2,000 GB) or more of space and safely share your content". Clearly, my account can be upgraded from the Basic 2GB limit to 2TB but I am currently almost out of storage I won't be doing this as I will clear the excess down to my NAS by my curiosity was piqued.... When I go to the "Plans" page the message above the plans options also notes "Your account is running out of storage!" and within the Basic plan box notes that I'm "Using 4.96 GB of 2 GB space" So, I'm not nearly out of storage but to my mind I am 150% beyond the permitted maximum for this Basic account. I now select to view my profile and see that under my username are two messages stating that I am "Using 4.96 GB of 5.75 GB storage" and "Upgrade soon to get more space" So option three is that I'm almost at max storage but am still under, again but this time my basic account permits 5.75GB and I have approx 15% headspace remaining. What is going on here? 😀 Is this because my account was created years ago and that the account limit was previously 5GB and reduced to 2GB at some time in the past? Is it possible some people might be being charged for a service that they needn't be paying for (remember messages state that I am almost out of storage, and there is no message noting that I am beyond capacity)Solved52Views0likes1CommentCan I purchase 1 more TB for my Plus account to reach 4TB?
Good morning, I currently have a Dropbox Plus account. I've already included a 1TB add-on with this. Now it's starting to fill up as well, and I'd like to add an extra TB to a total of 4TB. I don't see the need to switch to a Professional account, where I have to pay directly for 3 users, while I don't use this. is there a way to extend my Plus account? Thanks in advance.616Views0likes9CommentsStorage disappeared after free trial
My account is using just over 5 GB and has been that way more or less for at least the past 5 years without any trouble. I'm not sure what my total capacity was but I had lots of space available. Since I allowed the free trial of Dropbox Plus, and I didn't pay to continue it, my total storage has dropped down to 2 GB so I am 3 GB over. I did not change anything from my end but Dropbox has reduced my storage for no reason that I can see.244Views0likes3CommentsHow can I make sure my Dropbox files don't take up space from my devices?
My god... is it just SO difficult to contact Dropbox by email? How the hell do I contact them by a simple email? I don't use Facebook, Twitter or anything like that. I want to pay them money... but if they don't want it I shall use a company who makes it wasy to contact them. The Internet seems to have become impossible to use since I started using it 28-years ago.Solved2.1KViews1like40Comments
