Connecting components after quitting DB

Thanks to a splendid article on wikihow, I completely removed all DropBox components.
I left the DropBox folder in its default location (CloudStorage) and did a fresh install.
It appears the problem has been resolved.

I had the same issue with the "Connecting Components" message going on for hours and hours. On a whim, I logged out of my Dropbox account on my iMac, then logged back in and things are working again.
