On my primary computer, I keep all Dropbox files in offline mode. I've updated to the new Dropbox setup that places the Dropbox folder in ~/Library/CloudStorage. I'm wondering what will happen when I move to a new Mac in the future. In the past, the macOS transfer program would transfer all my files to the new computer's drive, and then Dropbox would reindex them (rather than having to redownload all the files from Dropbox). What will happen now with the new Dropbox setup? Thanks.Solved6.4KViews1like26CommentsDropbox desktop app not working on MacOS Sonoma 14.5
my desktop app stopped working, when I click the home icon it continually says "connecting components" without ever getting there. any changes I make to files on my desktop are not visible in the online webpage or on the app on other devices. I have deleted and reinstalled the program multiple times to no avail. Dropbox for mac: menu bar icon is gray and when I click it the animation starts but my desktop app never starts or connects. This has now happened on two macs. I've tried everything. Can still access my dropbox on the web. I want to upgrade but not when this is happening. Help!14Views0likes4CommentsMy Dropbox is syncing & indexing 65000+ files.
My dropbox is syncing nonstop, states 65000+ items are indexing. It's been like this for over a month, and it's been affecting my ability to copy files and folders, both to local storage and external. I tried quitting dropbox and reopening several times. Even updated and restarted my Mac several times but the number of items kept going up. Dropbox version: v211.4.6008 Macos: 15.142Views0likes6CommentsDropbox icons and folder status on a Mac. I need further explanation.
Sometime ago, I set my Dropbox preferences such that everything is "available off-line" I want this arrangement because I deliberately purchased a new MacBook with plenty of storage space so I want everything always available regardless of Internet connections. Within one example folder, I am examining its contents and I get a mix of the following icon indicators, which in my mind should all be uniform as in… ‘green circle with white check’ because I want everything available off-line. That appears to be generally true with all the standalone files within this example folder however nested folders are generally the white circle with the green checkbox. This brings me to the DB icon definition page and looking under the folder column where the explanations for the two icons strike me as being two ways of saying the same thing, In the first everything's available off-line, in the second* saying that there are “no online only files” is that not another way of saying that everything is local and available off-line? Can someone explain this to me?. Green Circle with white check icon = “For folders, this icon means all files in the folder are available offline.” *White circle with green checkbox icon = “…but no online-only files…” Thanks, Paul93Views0likes5CommentsWhat is the empty cloud icon next to my files on my Mac, and how to remove it?
Buongiorno e buona domenica.
