Unable to add comments to Google Docs
While working on Google Doc files that I created within Dropbox, I am unable to successfully utilize the "add comments" feature. I am able to insert a comment and type information into the comment box, however when I click the "save" button, I receive the following error message:
After clicking the "Reload" button, the page refreshes and the comment is no longer available/did not save properly.
Editing within the document is working normally.
My internet connection is stable and strong; this happens with multiple documents. Seems like an issue with the integration between Dropbox and Google. Anyone know what is going on and how to fix it?
Hello everyone,
Thank you for your patience. We are happy to say that this issue appears to have been resolved. If you have any other issues, please feel free to reach out to our support team, or open a new thread in the community.

We literally are just running into this ourselves. On top of the fact that we can't link to an existing google doc (the Dropbox integration is only allowing us to create a new google doc requiring us to copy & paste it), the broken comments makes this integration almost a non-starter or at least doing comments inline for the time being.
This appears to be cross-browser and definitely applies to document owners as well, FWIW.
Appreciate any support on this! 🙂

dgills Thank you for sharing your experience! I'm sorry this is happening to you as well...but hopefully this will help Dropbox tech support recognize this as a system-wide issue. *fingers crossed* for a speedy resolution...we are losing a lot of valuable time and resources thanks to this integration failure.

Ha, these issues happen and we totally get it. Glad the support and community is strong here, though!

We've had the same issues with documents becoming inaccessible and having to copy them and disregard the old one.
The other ongoing issue is that Google Docs created in Dropbox don't work in Google Workspace. It's really quite ridiculous!

Hi there Megan.
Thanks for responding to my post.
I created this file within Dropbox. Other users that I've shared access to this file are experiencing the same issue.
The issue I described in my original post persists in Firefox and Safari.
My primary browser is Chrome. I've just tried accessing the file using Chrome in Incognito mode; despite being logged into my Google account, I get this message when I try to access the file:
