Fraudulent Credit Card charges?
I have a Basic Free account with Dropbox (5.25 GB) but while doing my 2024 accounts I have noticed a charge on 19 Septemer 2024 for 15,840 yen with a 12-digit reference number (QR56JV6G98J1). Looking back I see the same charge for 15,840 yen on 19 September 2023 (G3LP437M56YN) and on 07 October 2022 (M25FY14MNBTP).
What are these charges and how can I stop them?
Would somebody at Dropbox please contact me asap at my registered email address.
Kudos to Phoebe at Dropbox – seems like there was mess-up and my CC information was being used by somebody else's account. After checking, they deleted the CC information and are refunding the charges to my CC.
My own negative comment is that it was hard to find the right contact portal for the first email to billing support but once I had that, the problem was resolved in 3 days.
I don't think this was a fraud, or card clone because there have been no other suspicious charges to my card.

Dropbox cannot charge you unless you have given them your card details - they arent fraudulent unless somebody has cloned your card and used the details, but, my guess is they'd use it for more than just here!
Usually this occurs when people sign up for a trial and dont cancel in time.
Use https://help.dropbox.com/billing/find-credit-card-charge to find the account its linked to and contact via that page.

Sadly that is NOT the case. I checked my account details and I do have the Basic Free account and there are no associated subscriptions. I'm now in contact with tech support in the hope they can sort out what has gone wrong. As a last resort, I'll ask my CC company to block all payments to Dropbox.

Use the tool that Mark linked to look up the account that you're being charged for. If you didn't give Dropbox your billing information, then someone else has and you should contact your bank immediately.
