Wrong Date of Birth
Hello I have wrongly entered my date of birth today what should i do?
- 2 years agoHi everyone 👋🏽Jumping in here to help clarify some issues you’ve pointed out in this thread. As mentioned before, if your date of birth doesn’t meet the age requirement for Dropbox, your account will be deleted in 48 hours, and you’ll receive an email and a notification confirming this. Read more here. The age requirements are:
- In the United States: You must be 13 or older.
- Outside the United States: You must be 16 or older.
If you added the wrong date by mistake:If you have access to email support:- Contact Dropbox support within 30 days to have your account reactivated.
- Our support team will ask you to provide proof of your date of birth.
- After your information is verified, you’ll be notified through email when your account has been reactivated.
If you don’t have access to email support:- You can contact support from an incognito/private browsing window and submit a help request. Click Can’t sign in? then select an account access issue, for example: Disabled account, Subject: Incorrect date of birth.
- To speed things up, please attach one of the following docs to your inquiry, so we can verify the correct date:
- Birth certificate
- Passport (the page containing your name and date of birth)
- Driver’s license, learner’s permit are acceptable forms of proof of age
- Any official government document issued by a national agency or equivalent is acceptable. Note: please do not upload any of these documents through the community forums.
- Our team will verify this info and make a change if accepted.
Hope this helps!Sam

I entered a wrong date of birth and will be locked out of use after 2 days, and the system prompts that I need to find a support person, but! ! ! But I can't find it at all. The experience is very unfriendly. Can someone please contact and solve the problem?

You need to have a look at https://help.dropbox.com/account-settings/dropbox-family-age-requirements and contact Support.

I have read this article, but I can’t contact the support personnel. Do I need to contact the unlocker after my account is locked?Efficiency is too low, bad review~

I’m sorry to hear this, Arthur_arthur_007.
In this case, I’d recommend logging a ticket with our support team, in case you haven’t done so already, so that they can further help.
Here are the steps on how to do this:
- Make sure that you are NOT signed in to ANY Dropbox account in your internet browser.
- Go to this page https://www.dropbox.com/support/sign-in-issues, and click on the “Can’t sign in?” option.
- Scroll down the page to “Submit a Help Request”.
- Enter your information, make sure that you enter an email address that you currently have access to, and submit it.
- You will then receive a confirmation email that will have a ticket number.
Once you‘ve done this, please send me your ticket number here.
