How do I sign in to my Dropbox account if I've made too many login attempts?
I have a problem logging in after I did phone reset.
At first I thought that maybe I am entering wrong password so I did password reset as well but it doesn't help.
I waited for hours but nothing is changing.
I tried to uninstall and install app again but problem still persists.
The three steps sollution that has worked out:
- Login to your dropbox account trough the website.
- Go to your profile and activate Two Factor authentication.
- Try to log again in the device/app you want, After provide the password it should ask for the security code just generated, provide it and you will be good to go.
That's the only sollution so far and was provided by the community, not even the Dropbox support although is a long time subject.
PS: Thank you @Andrew C.

Message calling the attention addresed to Dropbox Customer service Team
In this sense dropbox support should be more proactive and add a message at the end of the reset password notification e-mail and also to the FAQ.
That would reduce the ammount of tickets open on your side, customers will be self served and the forum won't be populated with long tail and spread messages regarding an issue that could be easily solved.

I was also having this issue on the Android app, but I tried the 2-step verification fix posted above and it worked for me.

I had same problem when setting up a new Android phone today. My old number is being transferred to the SIM in the new phone but that hasn't happened yet. It seems that Dropbox is picking up the number from the new SIM. I will wait until the number is transferred and if I still can't sign in to Dropbox, I will provide my phone number as 2nd security step as suggested.

Having the same problem, got a new android phone and cant log in. I've transferred my SIM card because I bought the phone outright. Tried to uninstall updates and re-install that doesn't work either

Same for me. Sony Xperia M4 Android. Works OK on PC. Any voice from Dropbox side?

Same problem. I did find that Root Explorer will still access Dropbox after restoring its settings with Titanium Backup. That provides a workable way to get to Dropbox files from my phone (which I had to reset), but of course that will only work for people who have a rooted phone and a working Root Explorer backup.
Besides Root Explorer, I have also found that Helium Backup remains connected to Dropbox (also restored with Titanium Backup). Some of the other programs previously connected to Dropbox have lost their connection, and I cannot reconnect. (I next plan to see if it works if I back up the apps from another device with Helium Backup and restore with this as opposed to with TT).
I think this is a quite recent problem, both based upon all the comments from today, and as I have been trying more than one ROM and have reset a few times in the last week. I have not had this problem prior to today (and thought it was due to something messed up on my phone until I saw these comments).

I tried the 2-step verification thing that someone suggested and it works. So you select 2-step ver. in the web version control panel. Enter your mobile number. Sign in again with your phone.Your phone gets a text with a code, enter that and your in.Go back to the control panel and disable the 2-step verification if you want and it will still sign in.
Whomever suggested this earlier.....thank-you very much!

I also have the same problem when trying to set dropbox up on my new S7 Edge. Still works fine on my Note 4 though. Have "solved" it by just accessing dropbox through the web browser on the S7, which works, but of course is a bit more fiddly than just using the app....

I'm glad that at least some people solved their problem.
For me, 2 step verification is not helping.
I get a message with a code, but still can't pass the first screen.
I tried to stop dropbox also, empty cache, and log in again.Nope, no change.
CORRECTION2 step verification worked for me as well.
I made a mistake first time.
