Hi Walter,
In my system tray it says 218.4.4348 .
I have since taken the following steps: 1) I found that a folder labeled Dropbox(Old) has been created. Looking at that folder, it has my up to date files saved. I have off loaded the entire folder to a separate hard drive to prevent it from being damaged. 2) I attempted to uninstall and reinstall the desktop app but don't think I did it correctly. 3) Please send me instructions on how to delete Dropbox from my computer and re-install it. 4) The dropbox account on the website is for account [removed per the Dropbox Community Guidelines] but it has not updated in a couple of weeks. I guess I need to delete that data and then upload the folders I put on a separate hard drive. 5) I have now two dropbox icons on my file tree that look like they were installed when I attempted to reload the app.
Thank you for your help.
Munro
Hey Mdearing3540, before uninstalling/reinstalling the app, I'd like to gather some more info.
Can you please click on the Dropbox icon in your system tray, then on your profile pic/initials, then on "preferences" and then on "account" and let me know if you see the same email there, like on the Dropbox website?
Also, if you click on the Dropbox icon again and then on the folder icons next to your profile pic/initials, which Dropbox folder are you taken to?
