Right. I have full confidence in regards to the plan and account side and sorting that out just fine. My main concern is whether there is any ownership/permissions change that happens once accepting a teams invite (access to pre-existing files from my personal account). I have YEARS worth of files that, as of now, haven't changed, and don't want to risk the Admin having access to them as they are not related to the client (Admin) whatsoever.
Hi willuper
If you become part of a Business Team then they 'own' your account and as such all of the files and data within it. They could, at any point, delete your account and you'd loose it all. While they cannot 'see' the data as such via the Dropbox website there is an option for them to log in as you and thus view all your data if they so wished.
Personally I'd set up a second account and use that as the one to join the team. You can link the two together so you can view two on your computer at one time if needed 🙂

Understood. If I simply have them remove me from the team will that revert me back to my personal plan, along with all of my data existing before the team invite?

Provided they follow the exact steps to convert your account to a personal account, and not just delete your account entirely, then your data will remain intact on your account.

By chance is there an existing article outlining the steps to do so? As the admin isn't too versed in these things and as to avoid an error resulting in me losing years of data and client account working files.
