Thanks for the info. In this case, the only way to access that account would be via this process.
If this isn't possible, the only remaining option would be to copy the files from the shared folder into another folder on your account, and then share that folder with the same members as before.

I received this reply from Carl...does this mean there is absolutely nothing we can do to access my Dad dropbox account? I am still unclear what I can do next?
