Dafür stellt Dropbox 2 Möglichkeiten zur Verfügung:

selective sync und smart sync

Bei selective sync sind die Dateien/Ordner NUR in der cloud

Bei smart sync sind sie am Desktop-Rechner sichtbar - allerdings nur als sog placeholders ("o-byte-Geister"), die nur bei Bedarf geladen werden.
