Video files ( possibly photos too ) get renamed on automatic upload from the phone to Dropbox. There must be a really good reason for Dropbox to rename files and I'd like to hear it. It's very annoying because the file names are perfectly fine the way they are and so I can keep track easier for missing files, innterrupted transfers, moved files and so on. It's a mess with video files especially becuase: - Phone writes the video file with date time at the start of the video ( that's what it should be ) - Drobox renames the file with date time when the file was closed ( finished recording ). So, can we please not mess with my video files names ? Thanks ! video, file, rename, date, time, metadata, offset, unnecessary4.9KViews7likes5CommentsAndroid Scanner Creating Pixelated PDFs
I have been using the scanner feature on my Android device to create PDF documents for quite a while. After a recent update, the scanner is creating distorted files with pixelation when I use the Black and White scan setting. I have viewed the documents on other devices in other apps and the problem is the file that the Dropbox scanner creates. I have tried other scanning apps on the device and the scans are fine. Has anyone else observed this problem? If so, is there a solution?4.8KViews3likes31CommentsHow to shortcut a dropbox FILE on android phone
I was trying to find a way to create a shortcut icon on my androidphone when suddenly dropbox (or Word) asked spontanously that would you like to create a shortcut to this file??? but the question hasn't appeared again and I haven't found a way to do it to other files. Please help me out, it would be so handy to have instant access to a specific file.5.4KViews3likes3CommentsShow destination folder name/path for 'Share to Dropbox'
Android OS: Share>Upload to Dropbox>'Choose upload location': That dialog window does not show the name/path of the destination folder it is displayingto the user. Often this forces the user to tap 'back' several times to see what node of the folder tree the app will send the file(s) to. If the user hasn't done a recent 'Share>Add to Dropbox' operation, they have no memory of what the last destination folder path was. Please help the user know right away the name/path if the default destination folder. Thank you. P.S. I wish this feedback system would allow for screenshots to be uploaded.786Views2likes13CommentsHow to enable specific folder auto backup on my Android device to Dropbox?
Hi Dropbox Team, I hope you are well. Is this option available? Can you please let me know? I may be unable to find the setting. I found this thread which leads me to believe this option is unavailable for android users? I've selected a folder. I've successfully uploaded to dropbox. I have the free 2GB plan/account. I'd like to be able to turn on (enable) autosync or autoupload for that specific folder. It is the only folder I am backing up. I need the android device as a master. https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Dropbox-ideas/Can-we-have-the-option-to-automatically-backup-on-the-mobile-app/idi-p/460938 Thanks.2.8KViews2likes6CommentsPhoto uploads on Android not working unless I open the app
Hi, I have the photo uploader feature turned on on my Samsung Galaxy S7, which I believe works overall. Although I have noticed that if I need it to upload a photo that I have recently taken, I need to open up the app on my phone before it will upload. I took a photo this morning; 4 hours later it still hadn't uploaded by itself. Once I opened up the app, it uploaded immediately. Older photos have been uploaded eventually, although I don't know how long it took. Any ideas on how to get this to happen immediately, without intervention? Thanks! Hello! I would like to stop Dropbox from automatically uploading photos from my Android phone. I found several articles that said I should simply click the on my profile initials and select "pause syncing", however, when I click on my profile initials, I do NOT see that option. In fact, I cannot find ANY syncing settings anywhere! Who can advise me on how to turn of the syncing between Dropbox and my Android phone? Thank you!2.1KViews1like3Comments
