Dropbox Capture
135 TopicsAllow editing of Dropbox Capture transcription (and thus closed captions)
I am trying out Dropbox Capture. Unlike Loom, there appears to be no capacity to edit transcripts and associated closed captions. Surely I am mistaken! The ability to edit a transcript (with flow-on effects to closed captions) is integral to reliable video production. Please remedy. I won't be using DB Capture until that is done.4.6KViews7likes13CommentsPrint Screen doesn't save screenshots to dropbox anymore

When I do a screen recording using Dropbox Capture (v94.0.3), the resulting video skips and buffers upon playback. It's unwatchable. I have tried waiting for the full video to load before playing it - that does not help. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Dropbox Capture - that doesn't help. Cleared my cache too, that didn't fix it. I'm using Windows 11 on a PC, and other screen recording software does not do this (Loom, the native Microsoft screen record software, etc). The capture feature works just fine for still images so there is only a problem with screen recording. I've been using Dropbox Capture for a few months since it was in beta--this was not a problem about a month ago. Anyone have a solution?9.2KViews4likes47CommentsScreenshot File Naming Format
Hello- Out of the blue, Dropbox changed the filename format it uses when capturing and saving screenshots from a Mac. Like so many changes Dropbox made, there was no warning, there is no manual control, and it has negative impacts on workflow. The old format used to be: "Screenshot YYYY-MM-DD HH.MM.SS" where the 24 hour clock was used The new format is: "Screen Shot YYYY-MM-DD at H.MM.SS AM/PM" were the 12 hour clock is used This seemingly minor change has file sorting implications. Changing the beginning of the file name had a impact on file sorting, but switching from the 24 to 12 hour clock sorts the resulting files within 12 hour blocks rather than 1 day blocks. We capture regular screenshots and archive them and finding them by exact date and time used to be no problem. Now, with the new system, files are getting mixed up. Can this either be reversed, or simply revert to the 24 hour clock but keep the additional fields? Or, best yet, GIVE THE USER SOME CONTROL??? Thank you, Dave9.6KViews4likes10CommentsUnable to edit Capture transcript

I have been using dropbox capture on a daily basis for the past 6+ months and have completely replaced "Snipping Tool" on windows. I love that the pictures are automatically saved in dropbox, but I believe the below features could increase productivity even further. While most of the time I delete the unwanted pictures by directly opening the capture folder on my computer, I think it would be useful if a feature to select multiple screenshots or videos recorded directly from the dropbox capture website allowed me to delete them easily. Also, while deleting pictures one by one on the website, it asks every time whether I want to delete or not for every picture. It would be great if it allowed an option like "Don't ask again for 30 minutes". Also, if there is a way to change the thumbnail size on the dropbox capture website so we can see what's in the screenshot that would be great. Maybe add a hover feature to increase the size of the picture temporarily. In addition, the capabilities to sort files stored in Dropbox Capture by Videos and Pictures would be useful. An additional option could be the time they were stored etc. I do like that the most recent one shows up at the top of the page on the website. Lastly, another feature to maybe automatically show all screenshots on the website instead of selecting "Load More" to view additional features would really save some time.6.3KViews3likes14CommentsDiscover Dropbox Transfer in video!

Hi, Dropbox Capture is a handy little tool. What makes even better is the possibility to create Collections and share with your team. Unfortunately, we have little training videos from before Capture existed and they live in various different (Dropbox) folders. It would be very nice if they could also be added to the Collections. That way we can keep our Dropbox Capture THE place to go for our people looking for interesting and helpful videos related to their work. Hope this gets implemented KoenSolved3.3KViews2likes2Comments
