New Paper interface is horrible...
Hi all I just had my paper docs migrated into my Dropbox account. However, I still have access to www.dropbox.com/paper. There is a new Paper UI that initially shows only a couple of files. For some reason, this new UI has a completely different conceptual model or way of working. And many of the basic conventions we had in the previous Paper UI have been removed or replaced by strange alternatives. For instance, a search on this empty space will actually return the results of your migrated Paper docs. They can be filtered, but incredibly, they cannot be sorted. On the left side, there is a sidebar that is almost empty. Apparently, it's up to the user to create a navigation structure there and populate it with documents. I challenge you to find who to do it, but drag and drop doesn't work. I was not offered any type of onboarding or tutorial to transition to this new UI. So, I guess I'll have to discover my way through it little by little. But honestly, I don't know if this new UI will also be removed soon. Can anybody explain what happened with Paper? Thanks
Give us the option to export all Dropbox Paper docs at once
Sadly, the last update to Dropbox Paper ended the "export all at once" feature. This means that all work done only ever exists on Dropbox's servers and there is no backup on my local computer. As long as I could export all at once, I could do weekly backups in case things go awry. This is not possible anymore in the new version. This means I will not be able to use the Paper feature anymore as I cannot accept unsecured work and exporting paper documents one by one for Backup is not practicable. Please bring "export all at once" back to Dropbox Paper.
How can I remove a user from a Paper document that I shared with them via link?
Hello, I've a personal Dropbox account. I shared the link to someone. He opened it in his work account, instead of his personal account. Now the paper shows his work account as 'opened'. How to remove that? He doesn't want other people who is viewing the Paper to notice his work email address. Please help me.I've lost my Dropbox Paper documents, how can I get them back?
Hello. A few weeks ago I noticed that I lost all my Dropbox Paper documents. I have been using this application for years and I really like it. The documents contain important information for my work and it is a big problem for me. After a few days, some of the documents started to appear again, but it is only a small part. I can't find an official statement from Dropbox anywhere. I tried the usual procedures and those I found on the forums, but nothing helped. A small part of the documents came back, but the vast majority of them are gone. Can anyone please advise me or direct me? This is an unpaid service, I have not noticed any changes to the rules that could explain anything. Thank youPaper by Dropbox to be discontinued?
I'm seeing a number of posts across social media speculating that Dropbox Paper is to be discontinued. As there has been no Paper by Dropbox app update for 2+ years (since Version 262.2), and because of general user discontent regarding the infamous 2020 update, this rumour seems to be gathering momentum. Could somebody confirm what we should expect (and when) before I start scouting for alternative platforms? Many thanks!
"In one week: Paper docs are moving to your Dropbox" but they haven't.
On December 13, 2024, I received an email from Dropbox stating, ‘In one week: Paper docs are moving to your Dropbox.’ However, this has not happened. Instead, when I click the ‘Download docs you created’ button on paper.dropbox.com, I no longer receive an email with a download link as I used to. Why isn’t Paper working as expected? ...Tobias
All Dropbox Paper docs disappeared
I need immediate help! All of my Dropbox Paper documents are completely gone — missing without any trace!This is an urgent situation that is severely impacting my work. For many years I have used Dropbox paper. Made hundreds of folders and papers. Now I have only 10 or so in my migrated section. First of all I had no idea something was about to happen. Maybe I missed mails? I have used paper recently without an issue or a notice that I should do something really quick! Now I have no Idea where to find my files. I have a folder 'Gemigreerde paper documenten' (Dutch) and there is not even 1% of my files. We are working in a team and maybe a college did the migration and I can't see them now? I find this update very disturbing! So dropbox, how can I get them back? Where are they? Thanks!
