I had some issues trying to move several folders and files from one folder to another on Dropbox web, I was moving around 200+ folders with files and folders inside and it failed when moving them to another folder at the same time. I opened a ticket for it (#24692326) and also would like to Dropbox team to take a look at it, or if possible to show a warning/alert about the max. files/folders that can be moved at the same time on the web app. Thanks in advance6Views0likes1CommentAdd text based log files for errors (installation/updates and product run-time errors)
As the install update logs in the "program data" area are NOT useful or usable to any user account or techie to check, please add cumulative (single file) text based log files to a "user" viewable area to check. There should be separate log files, one for product updates, one for errors during the products running. I know major errors will be picked up by the Event Log or Windows Error Reporting, and sync errors can be seen in the UI, but a proper error logging system would be useful.502Views0likes1CommentAutomatic prevention of silent data corruption
Silent data corruption is some data on a local hard disk that that the user is unaware has become corrupt at some point in time. Usually due to a hard drive malfunction/power outage/wear and tear/etc. If Dropbox would flag and notify users of any incoming files that were showing signs of local corruption (e.g. reduced file size compared to online copy with unchanged modification dates) that would go a long way to fighting against silent data corruption. This feature suggestion would mostly serve users who have selective sync turned OFF.373Views0likes1Comment
