I have regularly been able to attached documents from Dropbox when creating an email on OSX Mail app. However, now I am not able to. Steps that fail are below: Create email on iPad with Mail. Tap on the paper clip icon OR tap in the body to get banner of options, including Add Attachment Window opens with file access options; under LOCATIONS, find ICloud Drive, On My IPad, and Recently Deleted. No Dropbox option. No MORE... button anywhere to add Dropbox as a choice for Mail to attach documents. I have looked in Settings for a way to tell either Dropbox to allow access or Mail to get access to Dropbox. No success yet. Please, any solution? I have found discussion of problem with Outlook and referral to Microsoft, but there is no MS Office involvement in this issue. Thanks in advance.Solved28KViews2likes20CommentsCannot Change Excel online date format

So I just used Google to sign into dropbox and it claims I just gave access to all of my Google Account. How is this possible? Using Google to authenticate should be a one-way street. I wasn't intending to let Dropbox see my gmail, contacts, google drive, etc.Solved26KViews3likes5CommentsDropbox app for Android causing high battery usage
Hi there, I’m Antonio, a member of the Dropbox Mobile team. We’ve discovered an incompatibility issue between Dropbox’s app and Android OS that led to higher-than-normal battery usage on Android phones. We’ve fixed the issue, and the app should return to normal functionality after restarting it. To restart the app: On your device, open the Settings app and select Application Manager Switch to the Running tab to view your active apps Tap the Dropbox app and select Stop Re-launch the Dropbox app from your home screen If you’ve restarted the app and are still seeing higher-than-normal battery usage, please reply to this thread, and we’ll take a look.Solved18KViews0likes101CommentsDropbox Back-up for Synology NAS
Hello all, Apologies for the repost if so but I need help understanding the functionality of the cloud tech and services. My goal is to have an unlimited cloud backup on Dropbox of my Synology NAS archive. Does Dropbox Back-Up support that? Details: I have a Synology NAS 4-bay. I use it for personal archives and some client collaboration (photo and video). I want to use Dropbox for client collaboration instead and reserve Synology for personal archive and backblaze as cloud back-up for the archive (which also includes client work). Mostly because the Synology is currently via wifi and is too slow for collaborating but okay for archive. While making a personal Dropbox account I saw Dropbox Back-up allows unlimited space for backing up. I thought this might be useful and perhaps an alternative to backblaze for the back-ups need (in addition to the personal account for collaboration needs) Then I saw this, "Files on your PC or Mac are continuously backed up to the cloud." Does Dropbox Back-Up support syncing all Synology NAS files with unlimited space or only the local computer and external drive? Is this how this works or am I thinking about this wrong? Edit: Synology has Hyper Backup where you can sync to Dropbox. Do I start there and work back to Dropbox Backup unlimited plan?Solved18KViews0likes5CommentsEditing xlsx files with Google Sheets or similar, not with Microsoft Excel.
Hi, last week, on my old Nexus 5 (Android 6) I was able to edit my xlsx files with Google Sheets and save them in the cloud. Today, on a Mi A1 (Android 7), it seems I can only edit them with Microsoft Excel, while alternatives like Google Sheets, LibreOffice, PolarisOffice or similar open my files in readonly mode. Do I have to give some extra Dropbox-access permission to Google Sheets or integrate them in some way? Thank you, RobertoSolved8.5KViews0likes5CommentsDropbox in Ubuntu "Dropbox isn't running! Dropbox is already running!"
Dear Dropbox community I have been struggling with my Dropbox on Ubuntu for a while now. The icon on the system tray had disappeared, but files were still syncing. I tried a couple of things to make the icon come back, according to previous users who experieced similar scenario. It did not work, and now I upgraded to Ubuntu 18.04 (from 17.04). I removed Dropbox, reinstalled it and Dropbox won't even open anymore. When I start it from the command line, it says "Dropbox isn't running! Dropbox is already running!" Now I am getting this error when starting Dropbox (although it won't start, it justs loads the process): Gtk-Message: 08:12:04.932: Failed to load module "overlay-scrollbar" Done! dropbox: load fq extension '/home/rodrigo/.dropbox-dist/dropbox-lnx.x86_64-51.4.66/PyQt5.QtDBus.so' (dropbox:3330): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: 08:12:04.974: cannot register existing type 'GdkDisplayManager' (dropbox:3330): GLib-CRITICAL **: 08:12:04.974: g_once_init_leave: assertion 'result != 0' failed (dropbox:3330): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 08:12:04.974: g_object_new_with_properties: assertion 'G_TYPE_IS_OBJECT (object_type)' failed When I click on the Dropbox icon in the apps page, nothing happens. I'm using Word 2007 on Windows 10 and am getting the "Macros have been disabled" error message noted in my subject line above. When I click on it, it says it's coming from Microsoft Office Security, and offers to allow me to "enable this content". My Word doc seems to be sincing with Dropbox all right, so should I ignore this?Solved5.4KViews0likes6Comments
