I had a paid account for many years. My credit card expired and I received an email saying: We weren't able to charge you $11.99 for your Dropbox subscription. Pleasecheck your billing informationto make sure it's up to date. After April 29, 2024, your account will be downgraded to Dropbox Basic, and your space will be reduced to its original amount. If this happens, none of your files will be deleted, but you'll have much less space to add new files to Dropbox. I have tried to log in to update my card but when I log in, there is nothing in my account, no history, no files, zero. I do not know what to do. Now it says I do not qualify for support because I have a free account. Totally confused.Solved6KViews1like26CommentsLogged into my account and all my files are missing
I've had a drop box subscription for a few years and at renewal, December 1st, 2022, I upgraded to DropBox Plus. Last week I had a blue-screen issue on my Desktop and took it to a repairman. He saved, documents, then (I suppose) cleared the hard drive, and then he reloaded Windows Home 10. When I got my computer back, I noticed I was missing programs - Reaper and Bluebeam. I was annoyed but not too concerned because I had purchase receipts and licenses stored in Dropbox. Then I noticed that Drop Box desktop short-cut was missing. I tried to log-in to DropBox but couldn't remember my password, so the DropBox Chat agent or bot sent me a password reset link. I used that to open DropBox, but all my files are missing. I paid a full year subscription in advance expecting secure cloud storage, but all my stored documents are gone ... very important documents for which there are no or very limited hard copies. Does anyone know how I can recover my old account? Because it looks like my password reset started a new account.4.7KViews0likes80CommentsI'd like to see files that users copy locally
Your FAQ document cites "File-level activity includes adding, editing, moving, and deleting files" but not copying. This reporting within the Dropbox admin console only allows me to see activities that are done WITHIN Dropbox. So, if someone moves a file from folder A -> B in Dropbox, i can see it. However, if someone moves a file or a folder from Dropbox -> their C: drive on a local computer, I am not seeing this. I am a the Team / Global Admin for Dropbox Business Advanced. Can you let me know if your reporting covers this because I have tried repeatedly to "see" this activity and it is nowhere to be found on the platform. Given how important it is from a file level monitoring perspective (i.e. it would be easy for someone to copy paste critical IP to their C drive and then find a way to lift it off of the computer via some FTP or even basic email), I would hope this is feasible. I am aware of all the features that Dropbox has for locking down an important file to the Dropbox itself such as "don't allow for it to be moved off of Dropbox" etc, but sometimes a file needs to be copied locally for practical reasons (e.g. too large, slow, etc.). So, I'm really looking to understand if the feature i'm requesting is currently available or if you plan to make it available. And yes, we already lockdown access to Dropbox to specific devices that are approved and all other security features, so really just looking to see if the feature i'm requesting is available as it's the only security hole I'm incapable of gaining visibility on.1.8KViews0likes3CommentsCan you restrict selective sync by device, instead of by user?
Long story short, I need the user of an iMac in our office to have full dropbox access. I need that same user to have access to only certain folders on an iPad. On both the iMac and iPad, the user account is the same. If I selectively sync certain folders to the iPad, any iPad user can simply click the dropbox app, selectively sync all folders, and then have full access to the entire dropbox folder. This is obviously not acceptable from a security standpoint. Is there a way to restrict which folders sync based on which device dropbox is used on, rather than by which account is logged in? I'm really surprised I can't find a solution. This is a security dealbreaker for us and will cause us to move to a different file sharing app if syncing can't be restricted by device.Solved1.7KViews1like4CommentsTrace device used to access / move folder?
Hi, Last week some files were moved ( I think in a failed attempt to copy them.. ) on our dropbox folder. I can see which files were accessed at the time this began, through the file activity. Is there any way of finding what the device was that moved the folders? I've had to reset all security and remove all trusted devices since - to prevent this from happening again. I think someone who had access through the mobile app has sneaked through the net when resetting security - as it was a trusted device. I'd like to be able to trace what it was that accessed the files. The reason I suspect this is because my wife has access to the files on her Iphone (through the app) and it did not remove access for her until all trusted devices were deleted - despite changes to security etc. Thanks ChrisSolved1.6KViews0likes2CommentsPersonal shared folders potentially accessed via stolen work device - can I view past activity?
hi, i was sharing several of my folders with a work dropbox account to enable me to occasionally view them at work during some legal processes. unfortunately a work device with access to to the work dropbox account via the app was stolen and somehow the theives managed to access the device, as this was evident through the purchase of gift cards. is there any way I can see whether my personal folders & files were copied or downloaded from the device? I can see when I unshared the files, but nothing before that? what other action should I take?Solved1.6KViews0likes3CommentsUnknown error, please contact support
No idea where to post this. I guess all my dropbox stuff is gone? There's no way to contact support, but any time I try to log in, that's the error I get. "Unknown error, please contact support". That with: - sign in with email and password - sign in with Google - sign in by clicking the link they send to my email Any help?Solved1.4KViews1like1Comment
