File requests
154 TopicsHow do I allow others to upload files directly to my Dropbox account?
I want to allow a third party to upload a file once a month. Does this person need to be a member? Can I give a link to the folder? Is that all I'd need to do? Would the 3rd party be able to see everything in this folder? Should I make a folder just for this person to upload to it 1x per month?Solved131KViews1like15CommentsMake file prefixing an option - file requests
When someone requests a file using your request a file tool, the person who uploads the file's name gets added to the file name eg janedoe_filea.pdf . This is really frustrating and I end up having to rename my files. I did a search to solve the problem and I see there are other people that are quite frustrated by the problem but apparently there is no fix for this? Please let me know if there is a solution for this. thanks44KViews65likes49CommentsFile Requests: View the email of the user who submitted a file
Regarding the new "File Request" functionality, the person submitted a file is asked for a valid email. How do I, the owner of the file request, view that email address? I can only see the person submitting's name, but not their email.16KViews41likes30CommentsPermanently deleting closed file requests
I would like to permanently delete closed file requests. An identical issue was opened and marked as solved 2 years ago, but the underlying issue was never actually addressed. https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Files-folders/Can-i-delete-permantly-the-file-requests/td-p/208852 I wanted to +1 this previous issue, but the reply button wasn't working. Moreover, because the previous issue is already (erroneously) marked as solved, I figured I might get more traction by opening a new discussion.13KViews17likes15CommentsBest way to submit video files
Hi - A business colleage wants a group of people to be able to submit individual video files to her Dropbox. She would prefer to do this without requiring each person to create their own Dropbox account. What is the best way for her to accomplish this? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. bobSolved11KViews0likes15CommentsFile Request - Please provide an option to NOT rename our uploaded files
We receive tons of file submissions from our business partners daily. However, a large part of the time I spend managing these submissions is spent renaming the files because they're automatically prefixed or suffixed with theDropbox username of the user that uploaded the file. This causes a lot of unnecessary work and wasted time. I am requesting that you allow us - the paying Dropbox users - the option to determine for ourselves if the Dropbox username is desired . . . or, if the original unaltered filenames are what we'd like to have to work with. Thank you. PS - If I've linked you to this message, it was because you had created or responded to a thread that included the terms File & Request. I know this may not apply to everyone, but if you think that this is a reasonable feature to add (at least, the option to not have the Dropbox user prefixed or suffixed onto the original file name), then please vote for and link other Dropbox members that you think might benefit from this feature, and promote this idea! I am looking for a way to customize the File Request landing page with our companies branding. I know how to customize the "File Share" feature with our logo, but the File Request is the feature that we need branding on. Any help greatly appreciated.9.6KViews48likes21CommentsUsing Dropbox for wedding
I am currently organizing my wedding. One of the ideas that I have is providing guests with a QR code that direct them to my dropbox. The intent is for them to take pictures on the big day and upload them to the file so that after the wedding I can transfer the pics to shutterfly to make a book. When I asked a friend to try the process she was able to get to the file and was able to look at the pics that I have in there. She however was not able to load any of her own into the account and got the notification " this folder is view only". Is there any way that I can change the settings so that everbody that access the QR code can upload pics?Solved8.5KViews0likes4Comments
