367 TopicsIs the email: em-s.dropbox.com legitimate? [Answer: Yes]
I have received an e-mail telling me of a new document available for me in Dropbox. The e-mail is from an address that ends with " em-s.dropbox.com ". Can anybody confirm that " em-s. " is a valid adjunct to " dropbox.com ", or is it sooner a trick? Thank you.Solved102KViews3likes122CommentsHow to disable Dropbox almost full notification?

I've got Dropbox installed on an M1 MacBook. After upgrading to Ventura 13.0 it brings up a notification. If I click on "Get started" and go through all the steps in the process it appears to work, but the notification never goes away, and doesn't have any method to manually remove it. I've tried restarting the Dropbox app, and restarting the whole computer. Neither make the notification go away.24KViews6likes258Comments"tmp.drivedownload" Error - unable to resolve with tech support escalation
This error has been happening for weeks, and tech support has unfortunately been totally unable to help me. Thought I'd pitch this here. I am on several shared folders with other groups. Whenever someone else on one of these shared folders attempts to save or change a file, I get a popup message that looks like this: Again, I'm not actually taking any action at all - this happens totally without any interaction on my part. It happens for any file, not just the one seen in the example. Clicking the checkbox stops it from happening again for that particular file, but only for one instance. Anytime a new file is touched, the popup appears again for that next file. The scary part is that what appears to happen is that the files seem to get dumped into trash or recycling on OTHER PEOPLE'S COMPUTERS - horrifying! I asked others to check, this and that's the only way we found out that files were getting nuked. I'm very worried that we will later discover that crucial files have gone missing, and only when it causes a crisis. Tech support has told me over and over again to simply uncheck the box, despite my explanation that would stop it for that file, but this happensagain for the next file - I want it to stop happening for new files. This has been extremely frustrating. It makes it clear that they are simply not reading my responses. I have Googled enough to discover that this has to do with some sort of conflict with Google Drive syncing, but can't get any info about how to stop files from being deleted, let alone stop the error from happening. Ideas? Thoughts? Things I can test? Please, any help will be gratefully accepted! In the meantime, I've stopped all file syncing in both GDrive and Dropbox, for fear of this accidentally leading to deletion of valuable project or client files. Hey I received the following email yesterday, sent to the email address used for registering my Dropbox account: Hi [first name] [6-digit code] is your one-time Dropbox security code. Happy Dropboxing! - The Dropbox Team However, 2-factor authorization is turned off for my account. I just checked it again, 2FA was, and still is, disabled. A cursory glance at the source suggests the email was sent by Dropbox. I know sender addresses can be spoofed, but the URL in the email was the real one, so I don't see a reason to believe it's a scam/phishing mail. My question is then: Are there any other cases (other than on accounts with 2FA enabled) when Dropbox would send a one-time security code by email?Solved19KViews3likes22CommentsWhy do you say I have no space when I do?
I am using 2.81 GB of 6.75 GB so why did dropbox send this email- This is a friendly reminder that your Dropbox is almost full! Sadly, it won't save any new changes until it's back in shape. Upgrade your Dropbox today and get up to 3 TB (3,000 GB) of space and powerful sharing features.Solved17KViews5likes72CommentsOption to disable delete confirmation popup when deleting online-only files from desktop
When deleting "online-only" files or folders, I got asked for confirmation with a pop up, but there is no "do not show this next time" checkbox. I know what I'm doing when I delete files and I don't need Dropbox to babysit me. How can I make that popup go away forever?17KViews27likes39Comments
