These kinds of catastrophic lack of investment, care and inability to support therir products are usually a sign of a company in trouble, about to be sold/bought, or simplly fail.

Hi Cassandra M, Because of the way OS10 is built to support different features and calculate space used on the disk, Dropbox's solution does not work for everyone's OS10. Working around that requires extensive code for OS10 support. This is an example of two large companies with competing products which can result in mutually exclusionary S/W strategies.

I am suprised to see in 2019 that you cannot clear the read history in notifications. Easy fix for a service I am paying for.

Same question here... ALL OF THEM, especially the Desktop Menu on Mac in my case ! There should definitely be a way to delete all notifications, not just HIDE them and defintely no one by one.. there needs to be a bulk way for doing this. Sometimes really old ones from ages ago as in years... reappear.. BUGGY.

Thank you for your feedback on this one Ian - much appreciated. I'll be passing it on to our developers for future improvements.
In the meantime, note that you can disable or enable notifications on the Dropbox desktop application by following these steps:
1) Click on the small Dropbox icon in your menu bar
2) Click on the gray colored gear icon
3) Select "Preferences..."
4) Toggle the boxes of the notifications you'd like to enable or disable.[To remove specific notifications you already have in the notifications panel of the Dropbox desktop application, you can click the three dots at the upper right corner of the notification you'd like to remove, and then click remove.]
I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any more feedback or questions ianstudio!

Hey there Michael M.224 - thanks for providing your precise, descriptive feedback; it really helps a bunch!
I'll make sure all your comments are passed to the product team; your constructive feedback is what helped us improve our services and features all these years after all.
On a side note, I've also moved this post under the 'Share an Idea' section of our Community for more visibility. Other users can find it and upvote it too!
Happy Monday people!

Thanks Walter!
If I can find the shared idea I will definitely upvote. :grinning:

Very appropriate requests. I would like to add my strong wish for this feature, at least the ability to select multiple notices before deleting them with the three-dot menu.
- Tech-DaddyNew member | Level 2I agree with everyone else here … and Walter, you should know that since Dropbox 74 appeared (on the Mac, anyway) those "three dots" ARE GONE. I used to be able to delete / remove old notifications albeit tediously, one by one. There is now absolutely NO WAY WHATSOEVER to remove the dozens and dozens of years-old notifications that are now showing again in the Dropbox desktop menu on my Mac… notifications that are no longer relevant and in some cases bring back bad memories. Removing this ability is an unbelievably bad design choice for a service I'm paying $$$ for! PLEASE tell the UI team to give us the ability to, with ONE simple click, clear/remove all old notifications, please. Even Apple FACETIME has this!! (It's called "clear all recents") … this should not be a difficult thing to do.

I have also noticed a recent change, slightly for the better. I can now "read" all notifications with one click and move them to the "read" comment section.
However now there does not appear to be a way to hide them at all.
I will guess this is an indication that our concerns have been heard and this is a work in progress. I sincerely hope this is not the end result.
So for the record I will complain that this fix is not enough and thank Walter for being the best moderator ever, in this universe, in my experience.
Also for all the other complainers that think this is an easy task to code, please think again. Writing foolproof simple code for an almost infinite variety of devices is never easy. This problem is not an indication that dropbox is broken, we just do not like what they have done with this feature which does not degrade the primary purpose of dropbox, in my opinion. As oppose to smart sync which does. That is another thread but it does mean that the programmers attentions are probably focused elsewhere.

Thanks for your input on this one Tech-Daddy - I'll pass your comments on to our dev team in my internal feedback report to let them know about this.
If there's anything else you'd like to add, don't hesitate to let me know; I'm only a post away!

For gosh sake Walter, reading all these descriptions makes me wonder how the developers can sleep at night.
Why would this request to be able to delete all read notices, be a low-priority issue?
Why are the developers taking weeks, months, in fact years to address this?

I'm not in a decision making team so I won't be able to comment on when or if this will be implemented Claire.
On the bright side, I found the following feature request in our 'Share an Idea' section:
You might want to take a look and upvote it too

Love your resolute optimism Walter, but reading the posts you highlight we can hardly talk about a "bright side"!
The inability to delete useless and unwanted read notifications is seriously annoying your active user base.
Suggestions to stop "push" are feckless. Not sure what it takes for the decision making team to wake up.
The community has amply expressed itself. There is no doubt that this is a no-brainer fix and that it is needed.
