745 Topics"Move (file)" should start in the current folder, not at root level in the mobile app on Android
I'm not sure if this is just the case with Android. But unfortunately, it has always been that way since I can remember. For moving 1 file "quickly" to a freshly created sub folder, a user needs to navigate the whole folder structure to get there...18Views0likes1CommentCan I move another person's shared folder into a subfolder within my account?

Hi, Sorry if this has been asked thousands of times and/or is readily answered online but the answers Iâve found tell me to use a Dropbox vault which I believe has recently been withdrawn, Summarily my wife and I have some rather personal (!?!) photos and videos saved on Dropbox which we donât want our children to see if they open the app on our phones to look at holiday pictures or whatever, and currently although weâve moved said items to an unshared folder the images still appear in the photos timeline. Please can someone tell me how to hide them from the timeline and hopefully even password or pin protect the folder weâve put them in, similar to the âHidden Foldedâ on an iPhone? Thanks in advance for any help and adviceâŠ.45Views0likes3CommentsDropbox search is broken and it doesn't show the correct results.
I have uploaded a folder directly of files, where (public domain) books are organized in folders by author, and then as files for each book. I had evidence that a certain quote existed in the folder directory for a certain author. Emphases added for point of discussion later: The gulf which has long yawned between employers and employed is widening; and the distance between the avenues and the tenement houses is constantly becoming greater." đ When I search for âavenuesâ, I first find the right book (file), and then within the file I find the specific paragraph. đĄ When I search for âtenementâ, Dropbox tells me there is no such text in the directory. (I have since downloaded this plain text file, and Microsoft Word can find it easily). This has happened a couple of times, where I have evidence a quote exists, and I search using the Dropbox system, and it doesnât find it. My very vague impression is that this is a new behavior? đĄ When I search for âemployerâ, Dropbox gives me all sorts of files, specifically highlighting in several of the cases that it has found âemploymentâ. This is completely unacceptable, and if you are doing soft searches, it only wastes your CPU cycles. I have screen-grab proof of all of the above, if it helps to see.62Views1like11CommentsSorting of folder contents in the Dropbox mobile app on Android
I'm using Dropbox on my Android Samsung S22 Ultra. When I enter different folders there are different ways of sorting some in the upper right some halfway down to the left. I need to know how to have every folder display the newest content without taking any action every time I enter the folder. I broke up a dog fight between a 250 lb Leonberger and 125 lb Pitbull who were about to attack some children last year and suffered very serious spine and rotator cuff problems. The medicine I'm on Lyrica makes my short-term memory zero and thus the need to have everything sorted in every folder by the newest addition without having to change the sort method or take any other action. Hi, it's 2024 . IA is here. Please, scan all my photo and suggest something to sort them or help me find what I need. I have a Folder "Camera Uploads" with more than 30 000 photos from my phone. It is impossible to sort them or search them or even to navigate in the folder. Ex : I want to find the photo in a night market in china . It takes seconds within the Iphone. It is impossible on dropbox except if the photo is named "night market china" (spoiler : it isn't) . So Dropbox is good to save the pictures but barely usable to use/search for them . Please do somethingSolved2.6KViews7likes10CommentsNeed to add more than 20 tags per file
Hi, We want to be able to search our files in Dropbox using more than 20 tags to describe them. Is there a way to increase this limit? Or another workaround to be able to search any file using more than 20 "tags"? We've tried adding a new file property using the API but it seems like we can't search files on Dropbox website by file property. Thank you for your help!21Views0likes3CommentsPersonal Folders for users in Dropbox teams
To better structure our business account's content, I would like to be able to aggregate all of the user's personal folders into one location/folder. This would allow for better control and oversight while also complying with our company structure.46Views0likes2Comments
