My account shows that another person owns it. I'm unable to use features because that person is always on the shared list as the owner. Do I close it and open it under a different email address? I don't really want to do that because I want it associated with my company name/email address.602Views0likes3CommentsI joined a Dropbox team and now all my files are shared with them
I joined a professional team and it gave them access to all my personal folders and files. I didn’t realise that joining a team would do this, I assumed my folders would still only be accessible by me. I deleted the folders but when I tried to permanently delete the files it said I do not have permission. I do not have permission to delete my own folders and files????? Apparently it needs to be admin which is a colleague who I do not want to access the information.21Views0likes1CommentIs AI using files in Dropbox to train?
Trying to decide whether to upgrade my account and get out of OneDrive, to avoid having my files accessed by AI. I have been unable to find an answer to this question, unless there is a clear statement and verification that files are protected, instead of upgrading I will delete all my files and close my Dropbox account.41Views0likes1CommentHow can we change team admin with no access to the current team admin's account?
We have a standard 5tb account and have a no access as the creator/admin refuses to hand over the log in. We are being told that there would be an additional cost to ADD or CHANGE admin to our business managers email address. Is this BS?39Views0likes5CommentsA user can't verify their email in order share files on their account
Dear Support, I have a customer who is experiencing issues accessing the "Shared" folder in Dropbox. He is presented with a prompt that says "Confirm your email" along with a button labeled "Send confirmation email." After clicking the button, he receives an email with a "Verify your email" button. However, when he clicks this button, he is redirected back to the Dropbox homepage, and nothing has changed. If he navigates to the "Shared" section again, the same message, "Confirm your email," appears. Also when he trys to share a Dropbox file as link he is meet by the prompt "You cannot share until you have confirmed your email address." I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue.29Views0likes4CommentsRunning out of storage and changing owner of account
Need help. I’m getting messages I’m running out of space. I’d like to fix, however. I think I have a unique problem and cannot contact Dropbox for ‘support’ (ha). I’m a part of a group, a church group … just a few of us. Two problems: 1 – our ‘owner’ of the account passed away. How do we switch the administrator to me? I can have our church treasurer send an email verifying the person’s death. I do not feel comfortable asking the deceased’s husband for a death certificate. 2 – If I purchase the upgrade prior to being ‘owner’, will the upgrade go to all others in the group?18Views0likes1CommentI don’t have permission to restrict access to one of my folders, even though I'm the admin.
I tried to search for an answer to this but came up empty. First, let me say that I am the Admin of the account. I only have one Dropbox account, and I've tried to restrict access to a folder from both a computer and from the web interface. I have a folder in a subfolder (that is shared with others in our company), and I cannot restrict access to the subfolder. Clearly I'm doing something wrong, but I cannot figure out what. On a computer, I created the folder inside the parent shared folder (shared with all team members), but I want the subfolder to only be available to me. On a computer, it shows the "find admin" link, and when I click it, it brings me to the team page on Dropbox.com and shows that I am the one and only admin.47Views0likes2CommentsPassword protect within account on the Essentials plan
I have my account open on my chrome profile and it’s possible for people to get into my dropbox account from the several shared computers it’s connected to. So I was wondering if it’s possible to password protect folders while in my own Dropbox account. my plan is Essentials.23Views0likes2CommentsDropbox needs to change permissions for the Folder...
Mid-December, my Mac updated to the latest OS. macOS Sequoia 15.2 (24C101). Since then, Dropbox needs to change permissions for the Folder: /Users/ ############/.dropbox every time I restart my Mac and a few times throughout the day. I have tried to check every permission possible to no avail. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Dropbox with admin privileges. Any ideas to resolve this small annoyance? I was using my account and then after coming back to my account an hour later the log in now fails and saids This account has been marked as inactive. Contact the team admin, which is my account. No explanation or way to solve this has been given, it cant be due to inactivity because I was just using it.315Views0likes5Comments
