On Mac air with newest OS. I uninstalled the app, checked the hard drive, restarted the computer, barked at the moon, clapped twice and prayed to allah. The problem remains. I refuse to pay to upgrade. I cannot sync additional files.Solved117KViews10likes51CommentsNo additional space on Business Advanced
Dear community, I'm here to advice that the support have been denying us additional space for two weeks, first telling us that there was a momentary problem, then that we had made a request before the 7 days, then again (after waiting 7 days) that there is a problem which however is not written by Nowhere. We're really worried about that because they don't give us any timelines and the fact that the problem doesn't exist on the dropbox status page and that nobody else talks about it seems a bit suspicious. I don't like writing these posts but we are really worried don't you think? Are any of you having similar problems? do they only have it with us?116KViews14likes615CommentsIncorrect dropbox space usage on windows
Hi Guys, My local Windows Dropbox is fully synced with my online Dropbox. Windows Explorer file/properties shows my Dropbox folder is 576 MB but to my surprise, dropbox.com and dropbox app both say my dropbox is full. I have checked the plan tab and found my regular file size is 3.4 GB which is not correct. My shared folder only takes less than 100 MB. What is going on here? Why the discrepancy? Any inputs? Thanks, TaoSolved62KViews3likes675CommentsMy account keeps saying it's full - but it isn't
Hi - I have a 6.3 GB basic account with less that 1.2 GB of data in it, but I keep getting notifications saying the account is full, and it isn't syncing. I've double checked my folders and cleaned out all deleted items, but it makes no difference. I have been unable to contact any sort of support through the website, so am hoping someone might know how to fix this. Thanks.33KViews3likes364CommentsWhy is Free Storage Space Removed by Dropbox?
I've been reading through some community posts, and a few people have said similar to the following: They have a free account, have storage of over 20GB, but Dropbox has messaged them to say the space will be reduced back to 2GB. Why is this? I don't want to go to the trouble of referring people to get more space, then have Dropbox message me and tell me the space will be removed. Does space get reduced if you don't use it after a certain amount of time or something?Solved15KViews1like31CommentsLost bonus space
I use Basic Dropbox for almost 10 years. During my professional life I recommended dropbox to many colleagues, so I regularly owned an additional 0.5 GB because of that. Moreover, at some moment I bought a Samsung Tablet (10") and because of this purchase I got - from Samsung - an additional 5GB space on dropbox. So, in total my dropbox is about 9GB, from which about 65% is used. I can (could...) still save files on my dropbox, since I still "own" some 2.8GB free space. Then, a few weeks ago I bought a new PC. Old one was getting too slow.New one is HP 2-in-1, core i7, 1Tb SSD and I started installing various software programs on it. Then I added dropbox to it. I was not really amused when I got a notification from the dropbox system that the maximum space that I could occupy is... only 2GB! This is of course not possible, since I already "owned" 9GB. Not all my data has been copied on the new PC, and I am not able to store new data. This does not work. So, I suggested that they (dropbox) provide me again the previous 9GB and allow me to use all not yet used space (35%), just like it was before. No reaction, no comment, ticket closed. "Sorry, no support for Basic Dropbox". Stay away from it.Solved12KViews1like18CommentsDropbox says my storage is full, but it is not
I've seen the other forums on this, but I still can't figure out what the problem is. My files are well under my limit, and yet storage is still full. I do not have any backups turned on, and I can't figure out a way to see what is actually eating up storage. Why has dropbox made it impossible to see what is eating up storage so I can delete it? Please help!Solved11KViews0likes10Comments'Desktop' can't be opened because the original item can't be found.
I have a Mac. I went to use Dropbox to upload some files. I got a message saying I needed to update. I followed all the prompts that popped up and ended up with Dropbox copying or moving my desktop and other files until it was full. When I try to use Finder to access my Desktop is says, "Desktop" can't be opened because the original item can't be found." I found an article that said to go to Preferences within my Dropbox App and choose Finder to access my files, which I did. The problem still remains. Now when I try to open the Dropbox App, it sends me to the online version and I'm stuck. I'm not very tech savvy at all and don't understand a lot of the instructions I've seen online; nor do I really know if the instructions I've found will actually help me or cause more harm. I saw a notification that said if I move anything out of Dropbox, it will be deleted. I cannot risk having my Desktop deleted.Solved10KViews1like25Comments100 GB PROMOTION HP+DROPBOX
