Hi I have shared a folder from my Dropbox account with a number of people. initially, my wife viewed the folder in my account on the windows app on her PC. However, recently, she needed to create a new folder to share with some other people, so created her own account to which the Windows app on her PC is now linked. She has access to my folder using a browser, but it isn't visible on her windows app. Can anyone suggest a solution? Hi there, previously, one was able to right click in empty space on a folder and have the same commands show up that show when right clicking on a folder: These are the options that show when right clicking ON the folder. And as of a recent update, these are not available when right clicking in blank space: I dug around in the registry to see if it was possible to link the command, but it shows in Directory/shellex as normal, so I imagine this is something that has changed on Dropbox side. Is it possible to bring this back at all? Thanks, LukeSolved4.4KViews0likes25CommentsSharing a local Dropbox folder over NFS
I understand why I cannot make my Dropbox folder on an NFS-mounted filesystem, as perhttps://help.dropbox.com/installs-integrations/desktop/move-dropbox-folder As far as I understand, this only applies if I try to set the Dropbox folder on a share that is already mounted. I can't see any reason why I shouldn't use Dropbox to share a folder that is also shared out over NFS, provided that the machine doing the NFS hosting and running Dropbox is the same. I stopped using Dropbox because I thought I could not do this, but now I am having issues with Google Drive and am revisiting my reasoning. So, is there any reason I should not share out an existing Dropbox folder over NFS from the host computer?3.7KViews0likes6CommentsDropbox folders look grayed out after transferring from Business to personal account
I've recently left my job and I am in the midst of transferring some of my creative work from my employers business dropbox to my personal dropbox. I read in the community that I should create a shared folder between the business acc and my personal acc, and then copy into the shared folders the items that I want to transfer into my personal. I spent this morning doing this, however I've recently noticed that all of the folders I've copied across aregreyed out on the web (both on chrome and safari). What does this mean? How do I know if they have synced correctly (or are currently still syncing) or whether they are greyed out because they've become corrupt / deleted? I want to ensure I have access to my art files before I am taken off of the business account. Please help !Solved3.7KViews0likes3CommentsHow can I disable the quick access Dropbox icon?
I understand why some people may find this little icon useful. A quick way to access dropbox features, apparently! However, I don't have any use for it (and it's just as annoying as the little facebook messenger icon that hangs out on your phone when you get a message!). I've turned it off MULTIPLE times. It's really starting to tick me off that I've turned this stupid thing off time and again, but it keeps randomly popping up again (I'm assuming after you all release a software update or something). How do I disable this thing once and for all? Or is the only way to do that to uninstall your software entirely? Also, I'm trying to post this and apparently none of the labels I'm using are right. Why even bother letting users type in their own labels when you're going to mark them as "not available" anyways? How unintuitive...Solved3KViews1like4CommentsRecently added files and folders are not showing on other users computers.
Hi, I'm sharing dropbox with my work colleagues. Dropbox is in the network folder and is being shared on the work network. We're all on Windows 11. Everything has been working fine until recently when it seems we are not seeing each other's updates on files and folders since the beginning of July. Below is some screenshots of what we're seeing: In the 2022 Folder I've created a 2023 folder on my computer: In the same 2022 folder on colleague's computer is not showing the 2023 folder: Similarly, on my colleague's computer you can see a folder called July: In the same folder on my computer, the July folder is not showing: Lastly, a file I worked on on 11 July 2023 which you can see in the date modified column on my computer: The same file on my collegue's computer shows as the 2019 version: What could the problem be? Please help.1.9KViews0likes9CommentsMy dropbox is now a sub folder?
Hi, I recently accepted an invitation to a Dropbox folder from a friend and somehow my existing Dropbox and all its folders has become a sub-folder of the folder that my friend shared with me. This only seems to be the case on the desktop version. Does anyone have experience of this and can you advise on how I sort this out? Is it best to unistall Dropbox from my desktop and start again? Help would be much appreciated. thanksSolved1.5KViews0likes2CommentsDropbox Capture not working since I updated to MacOS Sonoma
Good morning, everyone. Since I updated from MacOS Ventura 13.6 to MacOS Sonoma 14, Dropbox Capture has stopped working. Specifically, the app allows me to record the video, and I can see it in the rendering queue on the app. However, when I try to open it via a Dropbox link, it doesn't display. It remains in a perpetual loading state. I suppose this issue is somehow linked to what has been afflicting Dropbox for MacOS Sonoma for the past ten days, where the indexing of new files is completely stuck. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I'm effectively stuck and can no longer send my clips to clients. This is having a really negative impact on my workflow and my relationship with my clients. Thank you.1.3KViews0likes3Comments"Send a copy " to a Dropbox-file from an app to automate the process
Hi, To share a file with another outside our organisation we do as follows: 1. Create the file on our dropbox, when having a local copy on HD we can make the file directly to the HD copy 2. Right click on the file and choose "Send a copy.." to send it with Dropbox link 3. We open "Settings" and set password and expiry date for the link and prepare the link 4. We choose "Send with e-mail" 5. Write the recipients E-mail address and content in the message 6. Press Send What we want to do is to pass all this information directly from an app to avoid manual work to do the same procedure on each file, we are planning to send hundreds of files per day to our customers so it will be quite a lot of manual writing to do when all the information we need to give is already known by our app. Would it be possible to implement such feature in Dropbox ?1KViews0likes2CommentsDropdown in shared tab is not allowing me to choose the first folder on the list
I access Dropbox via the web browser, however, when I am in my Shared Folders, there is a dropdown that is constantly there which means I cannot access the first one or two shared folders that I am in. If I use Dropbox as an application on my desktop I can only enter the shared folder I am currently apart of. As I do not have a lot of storage, I need to remove myself and add myself to different shared folders regularly. Do you know how I can remove this drop down? I have tried accessing this via Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Incognito on Chrome and it appears on all three. I have also cleared my browsing history.899Views0likes15Comments
