A few years have passed since this request and as a business this would save us allot of time and irritation. As a company we share daily hundreds of links to files via Microsoft Teams with each other. Now the situation is as follow: 1 link is shared 2 team member clicks on the link 3 browser opens the link to the file 4 user clicks on 'open in dropbox' button Ideal situation would be that admins and users have a File open preference, where links to files can directly open in the native apps: 1 link is shared 2 team member clicks on it and the file is synced and opened in the native app Microsoft Teams has a great solution to this problem for Office-applications, called File open preference, see screenshot. It would be great if Dropbox could also build this feature in it's Dropbox-apps.8.2KViews18likes6CommentsNeed to be able to print the entire file structure for any account
I know other people have suggested this but I'm just adding my two cents worth - Being able to download/print the entire file structure for your records or to share with others - would save having to manually record it in a spreadsheet. Not sure why there hasn't been any action on it since 2019 - too hard perhaps?3.6KViews25likes22CommentsI'm getting a "Can't share file" error due to violating Dropbox's Terms of Service.
Hi Megan I having similar issue where my dropbox account could not share the links due to "Sharing was suspended due to a violation of Dropbox's Terms of Service". could you do me a favor to resolve this issue?18Views0likes3CommentsCan we have a way to edit the text for file requests?
I'm using the Dropbox File Request feature to create a consistent upload link that my clients can use to securely upload documents at any time, without needing me to send them a request for each instance. However, the default text "sent you this request" displayed on the upload page is misleading in this context. It implies that I personally sent the link for each specific instance, which isn't accurate since clients are accessing the link independently. I would suggest Dropbox consider updating this language to something more neutral, such as "You are submitting files via a secure request" or "Secure Document Upload Portal." This would better align with scenarios where the File Request link is shared proactively or embedded in a website, rather than being sent directly. This small change would greatly enhance the professional appearance and clarity of the File Request feature. Is there currently a way to customize this text, or could this be considered for future updates? Thank you!16Views0likes1CommentHow can I remove some users from the list of external collaborators?
I can gave access to some "Joe Random" to a file he needed to download. Fine. All good. 4 years later, the file is deleted, and his name still comes up on my list of external collaborators. There is zero reason for any Rando's to be listed here. There are 91 of them. There should be like 4-5 of them. How can I get rid of these names that no longer need access to files? Joe Rando and his 85 friends can go!46Views0likes3Comments"We’ve suspended your sharing activity" error when trying to share a folder
Hello, I have received this message when trying to share a folder. We’ve suspended your sharing activity because of a violation of Dropbox’s Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy, and Terms of Service or Services Agreement I can't see where I am violating any terms, I am just using it to share PDFs and Excel files, and have been doing it for 15 years without issues. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you, PmazSolved43Views0likes6CommentsIf I rewind a folder, will a removed member regain access?
A user who should have not had access to a folder any more went in and deleted a bunch of files/folders within a core folder in my Dropbox. I am planning to use Rewind to restore folders so I can properly backup the data. I have already removed access to the root folder for the user who should no longer have had access. If I initiate a rewind of the folder, will the user gain access to the restored/rewinded files? It should not matter - as I will promptly remove access again - but I just want to plan accordingly and act rapidly if I need to. And to be clear - I know that if I do a "Restore" instead of a Rewind, that the person WILL be given access again. But it is my understanding that Rewind operates differently. Thank you!39Views0likes3Comments
