Shared Files

Currently, when I send a client a link to download a file using the Dropbox share file functionality, they are directed to a preview page. When they click the Download button, they are presented with a dialog box prompting them to sign in or sign up for Dropbox. At the bottom of this dialog box, in text that more closely resembles a legal disclaimer, they are given the option to download without signing up. As a paid user, I cannot entertain this dark UI feature. If I need to provide clients with an instruction manual on how to work around a dark UI feature, then it makes me look really cheap and really hacky. Not only does it make me look bad, but it's also a really nasty look for the Dropbox brand.35Views2likes3CommentsAdd the option to remove metadata from files before sharing
Dear Meta Team, I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to suggest a feature for Dropbox that I believe would greatly enhance user experience: the ability to remove or edit metadata, specifically location data, directly within the platform before sharing files. Currently, the process of stripping metadata requires additional steps that can be time-consuming and inconvenient. Implementing a feature to manage metadata directly in Dropbox would save users a lot of time and effort, particularly for those who often share videos and images. Thank you for considering this suggestion. I appreciate the continuous improvements to your services and look forward to any updates. Best regards, Gigi115Views0likes1CommentTimer when viewing shared files
I believe that Dropbox is a very good application, but I think they should implement something it lacks, which is that when you share a file and disable downloads for viewers, you cannot activate "offline viewing." What I suggest is implementing a type of timer for the file. For example, set a continuous usage time of two hours. If the user does not have it but uses it for two hours in a row or adding, when the two hours of use are completed, the file will be deactivated1KViews0likes4CommentsWatermark automation without keeping the original.
I saw this closed topic:https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Dropbox-ideas/Option-to-save-watermarked-files-without-keeping-the-original/idi-p/766040 I want to add my vote for this, since is a nice improvement for our workflow. We use these folders to file invoices and documents in pdf format. I want to add a watermark on the file to show that the file passed trhought different steps of the accounting process. I saw that is possible to "replace the original file" when watermarking manually, but it is not possible using the automation tool. Thanks for reading. Have nice day. Can it be implementented?2.1KViews0likes3CommentsOption to save watermarked files without keeping the original
We are product photography studio. Feature needed: add a checkbox for add watermark automation on folder and subfolder contents. Check box for "Save copy without watermark" or "Replace original". Now always we get a copy without watermark. Example: I need to show client a lot of photos in a big amount of folders and subfolders. And it works excellent if we do not need watermarks (we use share folder, disable download. But still client can download low resolution images with chrome "save image as..". If we need watermark, we create automation to add watermark to a folder. And as result we get file duplicates (with watermark and without it). So it makes no sense. Or we need to go thru all folders and subfolders and delete files without watermark one by one 🙂2.3KViews0likes4CommentsSorting shared files/folders by people
Hey team, Please note that sorting the file/folder by the name of shared people is much important, as sometime we need to unshare all the folder for that person, but we struggle to find the file/folder shared in his name. Can u pls add this feature to the Dropbox. Many thx813Views0likes1CommentMore efficient method to share folders/files
The current method of sharing folders is painfully slow, especially if you have a group of users where only certain users get access to certain folders. You have to go person-by-person to add, delete or change the type of access. Each time you submit, it takes several seconds to update one user. It is especially cumbersome when the members change frequently (people leave/join a group.) I suggest a "bulk" or "batch" method of changing sharing of folders using checkboxes or buttons. When you click on the share icon for a folder, it would bring up a popup window showing all existing share members, their options, and the ability to change attributes, and add new members. Here's a sample view of the window. The same technique can be used for files too.308Views0likes1CommentAutomatic email that includes actual files added to a shared folder
Hi, This is what I need I have access to a Dropbox folder via my Gmail account. A customer puts files there once a week. I'd like these files to be attached to an email and sent to my corporate email using from:my Gmail account. Note that the clients are not allowed to have Internet access so the idea is simply email the very own files (not the link to them) to the clients when they are added to a folder (by a distributor which for instance is to add new documents for many people subscribed to their company)1.4KViews1like4Comments
