I’m using the latest iOS 12 release, and the latest version of the Dropbox iOS app, on my iPhone X. I have over 7,000 photos on my iPhone; they are also synced to my iCloud. (The volume consists of pretty much every photo I’ve ever had on an iPhone, beginning with an iPhone 4S.) Having this number of photos on my iPhone has been making my iPhone quite sluggish. I tried using the Dropbox iOS app’s built-in feature to copy or move the photos to one of my Dropbox folders; but, on each attempt, the Dropbox iOS app hangs, after moving anywhere from few hundred to a couple of thousand photos. I then opened the iCloud app in Windows 10, intending to copy the photos en masse to Dropbox, then, once the move was confirmed, erase the photos from my iCloud. (I also tried this through accessing my iCloud via Google Chrome.) I can’t seem to select more than 1 photo at a time, in my iCloud photos area. As you can imagine, selecting over 7,000 photos, one at a time, is not feasible. Thank u VERY much, peeps, for any help with this! 🙂44KViews4likes3CommentsCannot save changes to Microsoft Word Online documents in shared Dropbox folders.
Greetings. The issue. Any MS Word document that I create in a shared Dropbox folder or add to the folder cannot be edited in Word Online without getting the following error message: Couldn't save latest changes. To avoid losing the highlighted changes, copy and paste them into the document in a new tab. The message is in a yellow banner at the top of the document. Specs. I'm running Firefox Developer Edition 114.0b9 (64-bit) under Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye) x86_64. I have a free "Basic" Dropbox account, and a free Microsoft account (no 365 license). Things I've tried. I've tried logging into my Microsoft account, reloading Word Online, and trying again. I even tried recreating the entire document when signed in to my Microsoft account. I've tried creating the document in another subfolder of the shared folder. I've tried different formats, including ODT, DOCX and DOC. I've tried adding MS Word files to my shared folder in different ways, that is: By using the Dropbox web interface and its "Create" dropdown; By copying and pasting a file into the shared folder, again using the Dropbox web interface; By adding the file to the synced folder on my Linux system. I've tried setting the share options in Word Online to "Anyone with [the] link can edit". After each of all these different attempts, I would reload the document and try to change the file again, with no success. I would also close the tab and reopen the document afresh from the Dropbox interface. Even after doing this, the same error appears a few seconds after making any change, whatever that be, to the file. Some examples of different changes I've tried making to the document include adding text, removing text, changing the spell check language for the document as a whole, changing the font of some or all of the text, adding comments, and so forth. Doing even a single one of these changes results in the error described earlier, meaning that the number of changes made to the files is unrelated to the problem, as opposed to what some have suggested online on other forums. A quick search on the internet shows that many people are complaining about the very same issue to Microsoft, although Microsoft staff argue that this is a Dropbox-related problem, and don't suggest any working fixes. I say this in all due respect to both Microsoft and Dropbox staff and community, and am not accusing anyone for the problems I am experiencing. It is noteworthy that this error does not occur when creating or adding an MS Word file to an unshared Dropbox folder. Any help would be greatly appreciated. God bless.Solved25KViews0likes3CommentsDidn't Save, Need to Recover File
Hi there. I'd been working on an Excel doc on desktop Dropbox and accidentally closed the program without saving. Now I've lost 4 hours of progress and can only restore to the version I last saved at 2pm yesterday. Isn't Dropbox supposed to autosave versions every few minutes? Please send help asap! Thank you!Solved17KViews0likes21CommentsLinking Excel files in Dropbox
We just switched to Dropbox for Business. We have several Excel files with formulas that link to other Excel files all saved in a shared folder. With our local server the links would work for every user the same. Now with using Dropbox, the link will work for one user and not for another user. If the 2nd user changes the file path to make the link work for them, then it will no longer work for the first user. How do we make it so all users in the shared file can open the Excel file and have the links update without having to change the file path for each user?Solved13KViews2likes3CommentsUnable to Scroll through photos in Windows Explorer/Photos application
Typically when you open a photo (not synced with Dropbox) in Windows 10, the photo opens in Windows' Photos default application. Once the photo opens, you can use the right and left arrows on the keyboard to cycle through other photos in the same folder. It's a very handy feature that appears to be disabled when the folder is synced with Dropbox. Instead I have to now close the photo and manually open the next file from the folder. These photos are locally-synced through Smart Sync. Can anyone tell me if this is normal behavior? Is there a setting that enables the arrow key scrolling again?Solved10KViews0likes4CommentsAll my videos turned into sized down jpegs when uploaded to Dropbox from mac's Photo app. Any ideas?
I just attempted to upload my 'favorites' folder i created in Photo by selecting all and using the 'copy' option in the drop down menu up top to a new folder in dropbox. It should have had enough room, I checked beforehand. Also, i assumed if it didn't have room it would just stop short the upload or only upload until the max was reached. instead it appears that all of my jpegs were renamed, as well as sized down and all the videos were turned into jpegs. has anyone experienced this? I was hoping to create a folder in dropbox for iphone images/videos that i could access without having to store them all on my phone. Mind you this was a large upload, 3GB and approx. 1000 files. maybe i have to do it in smaller doses?? I'm on Mac Sierra. all of the images/videos were renamed to variations of this:UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_66a7.jpgSolved9.7KViews0likes6CommentsTrouble with Epson Connect
