Three days ago, I added Dropbox to a new ASUS Zenbook (Windows 11). Since then, no files have been updated on the ASUS although I have changed files on an old (Windows 10) Dell XPS. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling Dropbox on the ASUS, which erased/restored the Dropbox folder, but the files are still 3 days old. The Dropbox icon in the ASUS taskbar says the files are up to date. But they are not. Likewise, any changes or added files I make to ASUS Dropbox do not show up on the Dell. On both computers, the Dropbox file is stored on the local desktop (not on OneDrive). I have added exceptions to my firewall (although it has allowed restoring the 3-day old Dropbox folder) but I cannot get recent file changes. From https://help.dropbox.com/sync/check-sync-status "How to sync a file or folder ... 3. Right-click the file or folder. 4. Click Sync next under Quick Actions." I do not see Quick Actions. So, I tried "View on Dropbox.com" for 2 recently changed files. This showed the files as they were before I made changes from the Dell 2-3 hours ago. These match the old version I see on the ASUS. Because sync is not working, I must resort to copying files via a thumb drive. Please HELP! I just noticed that I can't right-click in Windows Explorer and get a link to a dropbox folder or file. Instead there's some "Send Transfer" BS that only allows a share for 7 days. How can I get back the "Copy Dropbox Link" action?Solved1.6KViews0likes4CommentsHow to sync folders from Dropbox online to my desktop app?
Hi, I am using dropbox plus trial now. I have all the folers saved to dropbox online now, then today I installed dropbox app to my windows 11 laptop. Since the files are so large, so I only select some folers to sync to my deskstop dropbox app, all other folders are saved to dropbox online. Question, there is one folder, which is available online, how to sync the folder to dropbox app? thanks!19Views0likes1CommentThe syncing icons on my files got moved after a Dropbox update
Da un aggiornamento di dropbox (attualmente ho installata la versione 212.4.5767), le icone di sincronizzazione (prima incorporate dentro a quelle dei file, in basso) sono finite a lato ben distanti... Così come mostrato qui a seguire. Grazie a chiunque possa darmi una mano a risolvere37Views0likes2CommentsI see duplicate Dropbox folders on Windows, after reinstalling the desktop app, and they both sync
Hi there I had a problem where I noticed one day about a month or so ago that my backup of my current computer had disappeared so couldnt access any files from my computer on my phone. The only way I could see to fix it was to reinstall dropbox on my computer which it fix the backup problem. However I now have a problem on my computer where my windows explorer shows two indentical dropbox folders. How do I remove of them without losing any files? Anything I do to one of the folders affects the other, they both have the same files and both sync. Thanks in advance.Solved6.7KViews1like29CommentsDropbox seems to be corrupting files…..
I’m afraid we’re are migrating away from Dropbox, however whilst doing so we have noticed the following issue…. (Windows 11 – Latest Dropbox Version). Hence we though this may be useful. Most of our 2TB files are stored as “Online” only using Selective Sync. We then change the file status to “Available offline” so Dropbox copies(sync’s) the files back to the local disk from Dropbox.com. After some time (several hours) the Dropbox app confirms that all files are sync’d and the Dropbox task bar icon also indicates a complete/no activity status. The PC is rebooted and Dropbox is then uninstalled When trying to view via the PC the now sync’d Zip, Jpeg, Docx some of the files are corrupted/won’t open. As a test using Dropbox.com we manually download a problem file using MS Edge and the files will open correctly. It would seem that the Windows Dropbox client indicates it has finished its jobs even through it hasn’t fully completed syncing … We've also noticed that the corrupted file vs good file byte size are the same. We could duplicate this fault. Any thoughts ?6.2KViews0likes17CommentsShared folders missing only in File Explorer on Windows, why?
I am struggling to see shared files on my PC at work. They show up on dropbox.com, my phone and mac at home. I have double checked the file names to be sure there are no "disallowed" characters. I have shared the folder and I have reshared each individual file. When I opened one of the files on my PC it said the file was last edited by the owner 423 years ago. We checked time and date on her mac and my PC to be sure that was not the issue. NOPE, those were fine too. This is the first issue I have had with sharing since we started using dropbox in 2008. Hoping someone might be able to talk me through this.117Views0likes2CommentsXmind always a conflict copy
Hello, I use Xmind. I use Dropbox to save my Xmind files so that I can work on them in both my Windows 11 desktop and my iPad Pro. When I save an Xmind file from my Windows 11 desktop, it appears as a conflict copy. I work on the files alone -- there is no collaboration; therefore, I am confused as to why I continually get conflicted copies. Likely the solution to this is something simple that I am missing. Regardless, I am looking to you all to help me to stop these conflicted copies from happening. Thanks much! DaveSolved89Views0likes5CommentsSyncing doesn't start automatically on Windows
