Help I'm losing my mind I now have 7 pop-ups asking me to install the latest update to Dropbox last month this happened I went to Dropbox/ download reinstalled the entire thing after I uninstalled it and while that solved the issue temporarily it's back again after a new update was released what it looks like is almost a virus but it's not I'll show you the installer screens and they appear to be issued by Dropbox I don't think you can fake that but I'm not 100% sure I have scanned for viruses just as an FYI but since there's no way to reach out to actual Dropbox and tell them that we're experiencing this bug on Windows PC specifically windows 11 its is requesting UAC I say yes ad it will popup again621Views2likes3CommentsWindows Server 2019: LTS App Still Shows Unsupported OS Message
I'm using Dropbox on Windows Server 2019, and recently it stopped working, saying, "Support for Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 has ended." They provided a link to download a "Long-Term Support" app, but after installing it, I’m still getting the same message, and it won’t launch. Has anyone else experienced this? It's frustrating, especially since I already installed the recommended LTS app. Any advice or workarounds?142Views3likes11CommentsThe Dropbox Badge does not appear on MS Word files on certain computers with Windows 10 Pro.
In my company, on most computers running Windows 10 Pro with Dropbox version 212.4.5767 and various Office packages, the blue badge does not appear when opening Word files. I haven’t been able to determine if the issue is caused by Windows, Office, or Dropbox. However, it affects most computers. Please help me find a solution to resolve this issue, as my colleagues actively use this feature. Thank you.20Views0likes5CommentsDesktop app: no internet connection/ can't connect on Windows device.
I became aware that my Dropbox app stopped synchronizing two days ago. After trying several things I did an advanced de-install. Then installing again with the 'offline installer'. The normal one didn't work, because it said there was no internet connection. The connection was all the time established and even with the firewall off, it didn't work. The app is now installed, but still tries to make a connection. I found a lot of posts with connection problems, but nothing helped to me. Please advice.54Views0likes5CommentsHow to sync folders from Dropbox online to my desktop app?
Hi, I am using dropbox plus trial now. I have all the folers saved to dropbox online now, then today I installed dropbox app to my windows 11 laptop. Since the files are so large, so I only select some folers to sync to my deskstop dropbox app, all other folders are saved to dropbox online. Question, there is one folder, which is available online, how to sync the folder to dropbox app? thanks!15Views0likes1CommentHow can I connect an existing Dropbox folder to my new Windows desktop app?

Please, any help?Solved61Views0likes5CommentsThe syncing icons on my files got moved after a Dropbox update
Da un aggiornamento di dropbox (attualmente ho installata la versione 212.4.5767), le icone di sincronizzazione (prima incorporate dentro a quelle dei file, in basso) sono finite a lato ben distanti... Così come mostrato qui a seguire. Grazie a chiunque possa darmi una mano a risolvere28Views0likes2CommentsChange Icons for folders in Windows
First, I would like to thank the Dropbox development team for addressing the issue with not being able to use my own desktop icons in Windows for Dropbox folders. That was accomplished a couple years ago. I wouldn't have kept my Dropbox account otherwise. That is very important to me and apparently to many subscribers. So, I am back on the same topic. I can change the icon for any folder except a shared folder, for which there is only the standard icon provided by Dropbox. If you have many shared folders, you have many icons that are the same. So, how about allowing a user to change the icon of a shared folder? I spent a least a couple of hours on trying to find out how. But nothing works. When I change it in Windows customize folder option, it never takes for a shared folder. Now, why is that? I think it's time for the Dropbox develooment team to step up, like they have before and solve another simple problem. We know you can do it. We are cheering you on! Thanks for listening to your community of users!10Views1like0CommentsDropbox Sync errors STILL on Windows Search folder
This is a repost of an issue I posted 7 months ago, when it first got on my nerves. "Dropbox Sync errors on Windows Search folder " The reply I got just fobbed me off, saying others haven't reported it - which may be true, but it doesn't answer the question, or address the issue. So not a good reply, was it? This post askes the same question again, clearly indicates the cause of the problem and suggests a solution. Please note the issue does not rely on any product or service other than Windows Search, the DropBox app and the Dropbox sync process. The problem occurs because Dropbox wrongly treats all data in the Dropbox tree as owned by <username>. It does not allow for folders temporarily created and owned by SYSTEM processes, such as Windows Search. Evidence I have relocated all <username> data files to a separate Data Drive D:, just as OEMs have done since Win XP. This is my Dropbox folder path and its contents (on a Win 11 box, tho' this is irrelevant) D:\Users\<username>\DropBox 'owner <username> Folder1... 'owner <username> Folder2... 'owner <username> Search 'owner SYSTEM Data 'owner SYSTEM Temp 'owner SYSTEM USGTHRSVC 'Read Permission is denied to Administrators The Dropbox System Tray window currently reports 46 Dropbox created issues... the Fix button does nothing to help, as all the error files are System files, not accessible to a normal Admin user Suggested Solution I suggest Sync should ignore any folder owned by SYSTEM, and this issue will disappear. NB It seems wrong in principle to copy SYSTEM owned files to any external system apart from a full imaging process initiated by SYSTEM. The above is 100% reproducible - assuming appropriate valid relocation of the DropBox folder Please test for yourselves and report back here. I await an update of the Dropbox app. I am using 211.4.6008 Spilly8211Views0likes1Comment
