Hi, I've had a Basic plan with 10.4GB of storage for years. I got an unexpected email yesterday saying I'm "back on Dropbox Basic" because my admin took no action on a free trial. I didn't sign up for a free trial, and I've never been paying. Any idea why I lost 3GB of storage capacity? How can I figure out what happened and how to fix it?131Views0likes21CommentsI received an email stating I've used all my promotional space, but this isn't the case.
I received an email from Dropbox this morning that basically contains lies. Now I know misinformation is becoming the norm over the pond, but I'd like to think that here in the UK we can keep a reasonable amount of truth in our communications. The email (below) claims I have used all of the free 100GB Dropbox allocated me when I purchased an HP laptop. However, a simple look at my quota used shows that not to be the case. I'd like to think that this is some form of "mistake", but I feel it is a cynical attempt to get those who are not IT savvy to worry they are about to lose information and subscribe to an upgrade they do not need. Anyone else getting these lies sent them??15Views0likes2CommentsI received an email about the discontinuation of the Dropbox Send and Track feature. Is it real?
The email was just sent to my inbox; partly stating: “After careful consideration, we will be discontinuing Dropbox Send and track as of March 31, 2025. This includes sending files as well as tracking analytics for those files. “ IF THIS WAS INDEED SENT BY DROPBOX; please explain - since I’m paying way too much money to have any of my files deleted!!!63Views0likes5CommentsWhen opening a shared link using Gmail, it alters the URL.
As I prepare to send a press release to my media contacts with my Dropbox folder link (that has view-only permissions) included, I've found that the link works only a few times after I click it in my test emails. But afterwards, the URL starts to unfurl the ampersands (&) as "amp;" and it breaks the link, giving 400 errors on all my devices. i.e. The original, working URL structure: [...] rlkey=rjcrcap8ebtitcazxmlhi4zw0&st=yl5h2f17&dl=0 The 400 error version of the link: [...] rlkey=rjcrcap8ebtitcazxmlhi4zw0&st=yl5h2f17&dl=0 When I delete the "amp;"s manually, the URL works again as it should. Any idea why this is happening? I cannot share my Dropbox link until this is fixed. For my tests, I am using the latest iOS both on a recent Macbook and an iPhone 14. Browser is Google Chrome or Safari (both seem to have the issue). Mail system I'm using is Gmail.24Views0likes3CommentsGetting emails from Dropbox saying my account is full but it isn't
I've recently received emails which certainly look to be coming from Dropbox, telling me that my allocated storage is full and my files are no longer synching. This is not to confused with other emails received from Dropbox warning that me quota is nearly full and offering upgrade paths. The Dropbox app however, reports that I have used about 8.5GB of my 10.75GB allocation. I have been running Dropbox for many years and in the last 12 months using rather more than I am now of my 10.75GB, but until now, without any issues at all. I can see that several other users have recently reported similar problems; any idea what it going on?11Views0likes2CommentsEmail says I'm out of space and files not syncing, but I have over 500MB left from 2GB.
Got an email saying I'm out of space and asking me to upgrade, now files are not accessible, but account shows space is available, is this a scam to get upgrade fees? Also can't seem to speak to anyone about this, very frustrating, how do I know if I upgrade that it will make any difference?45Views0likes12CommentsI can't cancel my plan; a verification code is sent to my inactive email address.
I can't cancel my subscription plan because the email associated with the account no longer exists, it was an email from my university and it's now deleted so I can't sign in and I keep getting charged for the subscription for years. I know the email and password but I couldn't log in since I could not get the verification email. I want to cancel the subscription but I could not find any way to reach a support. What should I do?14Views0likes3CommentsMy email address is inactive and I don't know my password. What can I do?
The email address associated with my account no longer exists and I don’t know the original password. I do have access to my Dropbox through a saved tab in my web browser but I need to update the email and subsequently the password. What do I do?16Views0likes1CommentFamily member getting 'dropbox full' emails
I upgraded my 2TB plan to a Family plan and added my spouse who had the basic free account on their own. They joined the Family Plan and their email address shows up in my settings as being a member. They continue to get emails saying: Your 2 GB Dropbox Basic account is out of storage. Do they need to "close" their previous account? Ignore the emails and use the Family plan folders? The emails are annoying them and I'd like to get this fixed. Any ideas welcomed. Thank you.18Views0likes4Comments
