There is a new PC folder (labeled PC) created in the new backup program that backs up my files on the internet (dropbox.com) only . However, that same folder does not appear on the Dropbox App on my iPhone or on my PC (dropbox folder) - so none of the new files that are downloaded to the internet sync with the iPhone App. When I manually place files in the Dropbox folder on my PC, it will then sync with my iPhone dropbox app. There use to be a file in the dropbox folder labeled for my Dell Computer name, and that file still exists, but it does not back up to that file as it use to before this new backup program existed. Almost all the files in that Dell Computer name folder have now disappeared. How do I automatically sync new files to my desktop PC dropbox folder, and therefore also the iPhone App, without manually having to do so? I don't think drop box is supposed to work this way.4.1KViews2likes25CommentsiOS app: "Convert all to classic integration"
I have noticed that Dropbox for iOS (v358.2) has a new action in the settings. Under `Native Files.app integration`, there is a button titled "Convert all to classic integration". But it is not documented anywhere. What does it do? How is the "modern" integration different from the "classic" one?3.8KViews3likes3CommentsDropbox Not Connecting With Files on iPadOS
I recently switched to an iPad for work but when using Dropbox accessed through the iPadOS Files app, I frequently (multiple times a day now) have to sit and wait for up to 15 minutes or so before Dropbox will load. After talking with Apple, they insist it’s a Dropbox issue (and granted I don’t have this issue with anything iCloud or Google related) but I’m not finding anything online either. When you go to the Files app and select Dropbox the issue occurs either at that level or after a few more folders in. When you try to load anything from dropbox (where is always different so not related to just one folder or file) it doesn’t respond for several minutes. After several minutes go by (always a different amount of time as far as I can tell) the file or folder will finally load and be usable. On times that I have already loaded some of Dropbox first, all that information still appears to be available but Dropbox has become unusable until it catches up again. There is more than enough space available in Dropbox and the internet speed is very fast. Any ideas for how to fix this issue (other than “don’t use the Files app”? Thanks!2.2KViews0likes17CommentsThe top of my iPad screen disappears when opening Dropbox
Hi. When I open Dropbox on my iPad, the iPad top menu with the date, hour and battery level disappears. Is this a known issue? Google wasn't very helpful. I'm on the latest version of iOS and Dropbox and I have an iPad 10th generation. Thanks for your help.Solved1.8KViews0likes11CommentsIs there a free version of Dropbox I can install on my iPad?
I use the free version of Dropbox on my MacBook and would like to share that folder on a newly purchased iPad (I've never used an iPad before). If I go to the iPad App Store and download it it seems to insist on doing a one month free trial for the subscription version. I'd like to stick with the free version however when I look it up on my iPad web browser and click on the DropBox offer to get the free version, once I login I appear to be in that shared folder *however* all of this is happening within a safari page, whereas I thought it was downloading and launching a free version of the app. Does this mean I can only access the contents of the dropbox folder via a browser page? Thanks.Solved1.7KViews0likes9CommentsIPadOS 17.3.1 is not recognize DropBox as unlocked
Use Pages on iPad running iPadOS 17.3.1. Save files to Drop Box as PDF so they may be uploaded to various sources. Until Tuesday, never had a problem. Now, even though I have turned off the pass code in Drop Box, when selecting it as a Source, error is that drop box is locked. There is now a new icon appearing: which seems to indicate Drop box is locked. I have done all the usual, i.e., deleted the APP, Reinstalled the APP, and added it back as a source, restarted the iPad, cleared cache. Nothing works. The only way i can use Drop Box for this is to split screen to drag and drop the file. There are lots of reasons why I prefer not to do this. I did contact Apple Support. They feel this issue is on the top Box side. NOTE: If I use my iPhone 14 Pro Max running IOS 17.3.1, no problem. It works as it always has. Also, that icon does not appear next to the drop box, source whether or not it is still locked.Solved1.5KViews0likes6CommentsCan I use Capture on the iPad?
I’ve been using Capture on my laptop, but as I travel mostly with my iPad I would like to use it instead. I’ve been searching all over and I cannot find information anywhere on how to do this. Certainly there is no option in the App. Then I logged in via the website on both Safari and Chrome. Although I can get to the Capture bar, I can only see my previous work - there is no where to “Create” a new Capture. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Solved1.4KViews0likes1CommentDropbox iPad app is taking up 280GB of memory
On my iPad, I have synced 206GB of files (Dropbox -> Gear -> Space used). However, on Ipad Settings -> General -> Ipad Storage, Dropbox is taking up 280GB. In the past, I synced more files but I unsynced them to free up space. But Dropbox is refusing to release the space back to iOS. Any ideas, short of deleting dropbox and resyncing, which would take a very long time? I have already tried downloading lots of movies in the TV app to create a memory shortage, which I hoped would cause Dropbox to release space. Doesn’t work. It seems that Dropbox is good is requesting storage, but once requested never seems to release it back to iOS. Latest iOS and Dropbox version as of 29 March 2024Solved1.3KViews0likes5Comments
