Alphabet navigation on ipad disappeared
The alphabet navigation disappeared on our ipad os version 16.7.2, dropbox version 362.7. We rely on that to navigate the numerous files we have. How do I get it back?
- Was the issue of the alphabet slider ever resolved. It still takes me to the bottom each time I try to select a folder or a file

I remember you or someone on your team email made a few months ago about resolving the issue of the alphabet slider. I had to go into settings and change some things around for it to work again. That only lasted for a few months as the app has now reverted back to the slider without the alphabet, so I again can no longer quickly jump from folder to folder. I don’t know if you guys are working on something on your end that canceled out the alphabet slider or if I need to redo the settings, but I can no longer find the settings on the app either. - Hi Walter!
I’m not sure if Jay is still part of the team but he is who I believe resolve this issue last time. Iamb not 100% but it looks like you guys worked on the app and put out an update which canceled out the alphabet slider again. That is a very integral tool to using Dropbox especially when you have 160+ folders to quickly jump from each letter so I can quickly find which folder I need. If you were able to talk to J about this or ask around your office about an alphabet slider somebody knows already what happened last time and may be able to help correct at this time. - Both my OIS and Dropbox software are up to date

Also Megrnorman, yes Jay is still part of our Team. Sorry to hear that this incident returned. How long have you been having this issue for?
- Megan, i am also having the same problem. Cannot locate the alphabet quick slider bar. I use dropbox plus on my mobile phone and have cleared the cache.
- I’m not sure when it specifically returned but when I opened my dropbox today, I noticed the alphabet quick slider bar was gone and only the slider with the 3 lines was there. Also, all of my folders are in alphabetical order, but are no longer listed by the letter.

I'm asking because I just checked on my end, and it seems to be working just fine.
I too desperately need the alpha slider. I have 300 songs in 20 files and to scroll fro A to Z is unacceptable. I’ve defended Dropbox against 4 Score for years but this will make me change my mind.
- I am also a musician and the Alphabet Navigation is critical in a live situation to navigate between charts. The removal has now meant a huge amount of work for each gig to have everything lined up numerically. The alternative is fiddling around on stage in front of an audience all focussed on us. An ill thought out decision by Dropbox. Not happy.
