As a Dropbox fan, Google Drive has always been a nightmare to me, due to its unstable download speed, horrible syncing app, irrational sharing logic, etc. I used to be able to transfer files directly from Google Drive to Dropbox using the Dropbox's native feature on Jun 18, 2022. I thought it was the day to end the Google Drive nightmare, but unfortunately the next day Dropbox took this feature away. I have to say this feature is so critical to my Dropbox using experience. As my business partners always use Google Drive to share large files every day, and I use Dropbox to store all my own files. In the past, I have to install third-party app to my Google Drive to allow the files stored on Google Drive to be downloaded to the server provided by the third-party developer, and then they upload the files to my Dropbox account. During the process, files from both Google Drive and Dropbox have a high risk of being exposed to a third party or even leak to public. If Dropbox could establish a direct tunnel with Google Drive, I will be more confident to transfer files. Sometimes the files our business partner shared need not to be downloaded to local computer, and only need to be stored on cloud. That's where this direct-transfer feature becomes especially useful.6.6KViews3likes13CommentsVideo upload quality is bad
Every time I upload a video from my iphone to Dropbox the quality is awful. Although the videos look perfect on my iphone12, once uploaded to my Dropbox, the image is glitchy. The file is glitchy on all my devices when I view in Dropbox, but plays fine from my photos app on my Mac, iPad, and phone. My WiFi is good, so that’s not the issue. I use Dropbox to share photos and videos from my phone with the person who handles my social media, so it’s important for her to have full rez hi quality images to work with. I have no problem working with still images, but the video quality is awful.6.9KViews3likes21CommentsSome of my .pdf files appear blurry when I'm viewing those on my account online. Why?
Any file in my own dropbox is blurry when I click on it thru the website. Same when I send a Dropbox link. This did NOT used to be like this. Is there a fix? It basically makes viewing any file thru the website version of dropbox useless. You have to download the file to read it. This is creating a lot of problems for me. I share links to files and clients are used to viewing thru the web browser (so is my boss).7.4KViews3likes19CommentsDropbox uploading raw files as jpg

I'm setting up a new computer and syncing my dropboxbusiness accountto it. The internet connection is great on fiberoptic cable (1500MB/s) but my download speeds on dropboxare about 24MB/sec What is the maximum anyone else is getting? How can I improve this?Solved75KViews2likes35CommentsI have an issue with my videos' quality when on the website. Can you shed some light?
I upload videos from my iphone 6 plus. When I view them on my phone with the Dropbox app, they are far less sharp than the original. When I view them from the Dropbox website, they are better, but still not quite as good as the original. Is there some video setting I need to change? As far as I know the original files (full resolution) are what is uploaded, so the quality should be the same.Solved15KViews2likes6CommentsWhy is there no progression bar or percentage when uploading?
Hello everyone. Yesterday I registered on dropbox and downloaded the desktop version on my mac. I need to upload a video and then send it to a festival so they can download it. I dragged the video from the external hd where it's stored to the dropbox folder and the synch started fine and is now proceeding, but I don't see a way to check on the progression of the upload, no colored bar or percentage showing anywhere, except for the estimated time left which refers to the uploading speed. Is it me or there is really no way to see how much of the file has been uploaded so far? I'm asking because I unfortunately have a very slow internet connection and I need to send this video to a festival before monday. If I knew that my video is up to, say, 80% then I would wait for dropbox to finish its job, but if I were stuck to a low percentage after many hours then I would definitely need to find another way. Thank you for your time.Solved4.7KViews2likes6CommentsWhy is Dropbox Browser so slow?
I use the browser version of Dropbox exclusively, and am baffled as to why the speeds are so painfully slow. We have gigabit internet at our studio, and while very other browser-based activity, download or upload can utilise the full bandwidth (commonly seeing 80MBp/s down and upload - on wetransfer for example). Dropbox, however, will typically never go beyond6MBp/s either way. And opening new browser windows for each file upload is tedious. We're paying for a business service here, and I dont see why the featurset of the browser version should be so neutered. If there's some sort of setting that's been overlooked I'd love to know. Thanks A7.8KViews2likes11Comments
