Can't download large files to my Android phone using the Dropbox app
So I can upload photos, and download on my cell phone Using the drop box app. A file that is 6 gig that I want to download to my phone using the drop box app wont even try! I have to log onto the Drop...

Sorry to hear that, Tubenotincluded.
6 GB is indeed quite a large file for the mobile app to download.
If you are certain that you have a strong network connection, can you retry the action, but keep the Dropbox app in the foreground (do not minimize the app or switch to another app) until the download is complete?

- Tubenotincluded2 months agoNew member | Level 2Here is the thing... it does not even open the download manager for drop box. Like I tell it to download and it shows the file name but 0 bytes on it.
Once I tell it to download it just does nothing... no download progression nothing...
So... I'm not sure... I will try to leave the drop box app open on my phone and maybe it will start downloading... just funny I can use Google drive, onecloud with no issues downloading but Dropbox has been an issue. I just paid for this service and so far its not looking good for drop box as being told its the best?- Hannah2 months agoDropbox Staff
I understand where you're coming from.
The thing is, when it comes to large files, connection plays a key role. You can read more about this here.
Do keep me posted if keeping the Dropbox app in the foreground makes any difference.
In the meantime, if it helps at all, you can attempt to make the file available offline.
That said, if you notice a similar behavior for smaller files, let me know.
