Dropbox website has broken playback of HEVC (h.265) videos

Audio plays fine but there is not video content from the video player.   No extensions and no add blocking, developer tools show a lot of server side errors (over 30)

Hey Charles S, thanks for reaching out to the Dropbox Community.

 

Certain file types cannot be previewed on our website and .hevc files should be one of them, but were you able to preview them before?

 

Do you get the same behavior with other browsers as well?

 

And you should be able to see a little camera icon right above the reply box, when you click on the "reply" button to attach your screenshot.

The audio plays just fine from the .hevc (h.265) file but the video playback fails.  I am not talking about the app, I am talking about the website (as mentioned in the title).

 

HEVC (h.265) was published almost a decade ago and the next gen of digital TV in the US will be using h.265 aka HEVC
