How to search the specific, or more relevant, words in PDFs stored in Dropbox online?

How to search the specific, or more relevant, words in PDFs stored in Dropbox online?

Hello!

Can anyone give me some helpful advice regarding the following “poor data searching function” issue?

1. The way to use Dropbox

a. Having up to 2TB of PDFs in Dropbox online
b. iMac has not enough internal SSD to down all PDFs from Dropbox online
c. There is no other way but to initially search PDFs Dropbox online, just like typing specific key terms such as “British bomber command”, and then downloading some of the results suggested by Dropbox online to iMac’s internal SSD.

2. Problems

a. the search result of Dropbox online makes me disappointed a lot. It shows me many PDFs which are less relevant to the keywords in the search bar
b. Very often, the search result of Dropbox does not include key terms that I wrote down in the search bar.
c. Thus, I cannot specify PDFs from Dropbox online. Everything means nothing!

2. Comparison (for example)

a. If I type “British Bomber Command” in the search bar of my Desktop, having all PDF files stored in Dropbox online, it shows me 198 PDFs which have “British Bomber Command”.
b. However, when doing the same work in Dropbox online, it shows me more than 400 PDFs. Many of them do not include the term “British Bomber Command” neither in the title nor inside of the PDF.

How can I improve the search result of Dropbox online in the given situation (above No. 1)?

Thank you.

Hi LoveNivea, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Just for clarification, when you search on the site, do those PDFs contain the individual words 'British Bomber Command' separately, and not as a whole phrase?

This will help me to assist further!

O have a similar problem in Dropbox Plus. This is a recent issue. Maybe an app update caused it? When I enter a search term, wanting specific words, Dropbox gives back a bunch of search results that it thinks are related. For example, searching the word Tuna to find a tuna casserole recipe, Dropbox returned Crab recipes, shrimp recipes, pictures of a fishing trip...and the words crab, shrimp. And fishing were highlighted -- as if they were in the search term I typed in the search box. How do I get exact word only matches in search?

Hi MDMags, how are you today?

I'd love some screenshots of what you described, in order for me to have the full visual of what you see on your end.

Can you send me some, in your next response?

        Keep me posted!
