I can no longer open one of my shared Excel files.

I have a shared excel file that I no longer have the option to open in excel or excel for the web.  It used to have the green excel icon next to it but now it looks like a gray file box with a up arr...

    Did the file get renamed to remove the file extension? Does it still have .xlsx at the end of the file? If not, neither Dropbox nor your computer will know how to open it.

Thank you Rich! It was the extension got changed by one of the shared users.  I was able to recover a previous version and open.
