How can I download files from a shared link that no longer works?
Hi,
I have a dropbox link that was sent to me in 2015 by my wedding photographer and at the time I saved the photos from it on a HD but its corrupted now. I still have the original link but I get an error when I click on it (Attached error image).
Is there a way to retrieve those pictures? ( The photographing company no longer exists so no option to ask them)
Hi Rudhvi09, thanks for contacting us.
This message means that the shared link no longer exists, either because the link itself was deleted, or the folder it was referencing was deleted.
The only option at this stage, which you mentioned isn't possible, is to contact the creator of the shared link to see if they still have a copy of the files.
Do you know if someone else also downloaded the files from that shared link back in the day? It's possible that they would have a copy.

I think the last resort for me is to try and retrieve the pictures from the corrupted hard drive.- JayDropbox Staff
Yes, there is free software on the internet that can help to recover some data from a corrupted drive, so hopefully they will give you a better chance to get those photos back.
I'm sorry I can't be more helpful on this matter.

Thank you.
It was an old link. I won't waste my time trying to retrieve
