I can no longer open the hyperlinks on other computers.

I started using Dropbox and installed it on my MacBook Air. I am syncing Excel files with other computers, but since installing it on the Mac, I can no longer open the hyperlinks on other computers. The issue is believed to be related to file paths or relative paths. There is a method to change the links to shared links, but it is difficult due to the large number of files. Please let me know if there is any better solution.

Hey 16592181, sorry to jump in here, but I just wanted to mention that this is happening probably because the hyperlinks you created on your Mac point to your local files on your computer.

Since this set-up would be device specific, any other users or devices that would try to access those hyperlinks would get an error.

Hey 16592181, thanks for reaching out to our Community.

Are these hyperlinks saved in your Excel files?

Also, what kind of files do these hyperlinks direct to? Other files in your Dropbox folder?

Are you only having this issue on your local Dropbox folder or on our website as well?

And why are you not able to open them? Are you getting some kind of error message?

Thanks in advance for this info.

      Thank you for contacting us.

In Dropbox, there are many PDF files in addition to Excel files, and their hyperlinks are set in Excel cells.

On a Mac, when you click on a hyperlink, you may see a message saying, "The file may contain viruses that could affect your computer," but pressing OK allows you to open the file.

On the other hand, on Windows computers, you see a message saying "Cannot open" and cannot open the PDF files with hyperlinks.

        Thanks for your response!

Are these hyperlinks from local files (local file paths) or URLs from the files on dropbox.com?
